Winch mounting bolts?

The mounting bolts that came with my Warn winch and adapter plate are all Grade 5. Are these adequate or should I upgrade to Grade 8 bolts? It seems 9,500 pounds is a lot of pressure on 4 bolts...

I thought the same thing. The bolts seem small so I e mailed Warn & they assured me they are more than strong enough. They are rated for a lot of weight.Id be afraid of changing them.Ive used the crap out of my Warn & never an issue.

Thanks for your comments. Even upgrading the four mounting bolts to Grade 8 bolts, the setup seems light duty for 9,500 pound winch...glad to know it has survived your real world use.

One little thing I did that I think will be nice long term is I replaced the zinc fair lead bolts with stainless steel bolt. Furthermore, I filed the markings off the heads and polished to a mirror finish. It took about five minutes per bolt for no rust in the future...
