My Warn 8000 is over 20 years old and has been on 3 different vehicles, and is still working like a champ. There is more than price to consider when buying a winch. Like winch rating and line speed, now some will say speed does not matter. Well it does matter to a point, some will say that most times I only need to move the jeep a foot or so to free it. That part is true, but if the tree you need to hook to is 70' away you will need to rewind 70+ feet of winch line. If others behind you have been held up while you spool out winch line after trying to free yourself for the last 30 minutes before you decide to winch out, then wait for you to rewind your 70' of winch line you will wish you had a faster winch, or if this is the 3rd time you had to winch in the same day. Also do not go smaller than 8000 lbs, and you will also need a tree trunk protector, a few D-ring shackles and maybe a snatch block, and gloves.
This is my second Warn and it has never let me down.
