Windshield Lights

I'm looking to get a "spot" light style light and mount them on my windshield. I've heard good things about Rigid Lights. Anyone have the Dually Rigid 2x2 lights on there rig? Are they brighter than a halogen light? I'm torn between KCs (100w) or also heard of getting 55w KCs and swapping the bulbs with 130w ones or just get Rigid lights. Also if you have another brand in mind feel welcome to share. I don't want to spend more than $200 for both lights.

I have a pair of the 130W KC daylighters, they make a world of a difference for mounts, lights, and shipping I think it came to around $180-$190
They were definately worth it

I have 2 sets of Rigids and I LOVE them.

I have a set of Dually spots on the bumper and a set of Dually D2 floods on the windshield. I used to have KC daylighters and they are, in fact awesome. The Rigid's are just more awesome, and more expensive. I really like the pure white light they emit, and the small size. Couple that with the very very low power draw and the fact that don't create much heat at all, and you have a very nice light that you really don't have to worry about.

I have seen just the Dually D2 driving beams on the windshiled which is another good way to do it. It's a spot/flood mix.

And yes, they are brighter than a halogen light. Stupid bright.

Search for the aircraft landing light thread if you are a dyi type. Those are way bright and for 200 you could do 3+ pairs.

One thing to keep in mind is the glare from the hood. It's considerable with KC Daylighters. If you are considering Rigid D-series lights the D2s are quite a bit brighter than the regular duallys.

I was going to get a set of LED spot lights, but then I found these 100W spot lights at Princess Auto (canadian version of Harbour Freight) for $25 and they work great. Little bit of glare off the hood but nothing distracting.
