Wont be workin on the jeep for a while

Had to undergo knee reconstruction surgery yesterday after I tore my LCL and blew out my knee. Looks like I won't be working on or riding in my baby for a while :/

Man, that blows.

Good thing...your Jeep is like a faithful dog. It'll be there for you when you're ready to play again.

76flh: what'd you do to yours? Because I'm unable to move. I'll be in bed for a long ass time before I can use my leg. Can't even move my own leg it's so numb and painful

Kbwwolf: shes always ready for a new adventure. Just kills me to see her sitting there in the driveway (cause she's too damn big to fit in the garage > ) , unused.

I really hate to be the one to say this but that knee will never be the same. I tore my ACL and had to have surgery 7 years ago. To this day, my knee still hurts. Doesn't matter if I'm on it for 5 minutes or 12 hours, it hurts. But at the same time, you do get to the point that you don't really notice the pain that much.

Good luck with it and have a speedy recovery. Hope you're back in the Jeep as quickly as possible.

I know it won't be the same but I know it's for the best. I appreciate your support and I thank you for taking time out of your day to help a stranger. Makes me feel like everyone here are my 2nd family! I'll be in that jeep in no time, even if it takes hanging my wrapped up leg out the door

I think it is different for everyone. I broke(destroyed) my knee cap, tore acl mcl and meniscus 13 years ago. I snowboard all winter play sports all summer and I'm training for my first marathon which will be in April. My knee still hurts when it rains but I still lead a pretty active lifestyle as much as possible.

Good luck with your recovery and happy jeeping, hope your riding soon

I'm hoping this will all blow past me and I'll be fine afterwards. Because I have a lacrosse career and have had to put that off for a while because of it. Thanks for those words of wisdom I appreciate it

Been there too, I tore my acl and had surgery almost exactly one year ago and I am playing soccer and running like I always used to. The worst part was not being able to drive my 5 speed Jeep!! Once i could do it though it made it that much more fun to drive!! So there is a bright side to it!! Good luck with the recovery!

I had ACL reconstruction and a couple of screws put in to hold another broken bone together. That was 20+ years ago. Once it got healed up and I got confidence in it again it's like it never happened. No aches or pains at all and I even went back to skiing again. So while everybody is different I had really good luck. Hope yours turns out as well. I believe the therapy was the worst part.

Thumbs up Remember..............

.............. the biggest consideration for any major joint surgery is a "POSITIVE ATTITUDE", as it has a GREAT deal to do with recovery

I know, as most all my family is in health care (sons a Dr, wife is an OR-RN/Mgr, to name a few). I hear it all the time "Attitude, Attitude, stay Positive"

Best wished my friend and have a speedy recovery

Attitude is a huge factor in recovery and I try to keep a good attitude but when I accidentally bump my knee. It goes downhill.
Thank you for this!
