Wrangler joy ride?

Any reasonable explanation as to why my new Wrangler was delivered with 40 miles on the odometer? Was it driven from some staging point to the dealer? I've gotten new cars with 3-5 miles on them but nothing even close to 40. Just curious if anyone else has had this experience and what the answer was. Thanks.

Tom

If it was on the lot when you bought it, it was probably used a few times for test drives by interested buyers. Or, it may have been driven from one dealer to another in an exchange.

Ralph,

Sorry. I forgot to mention that this was a factory order.

Could have still been used as a test drive or the salepeople/finance/owner used it as a take home. It is pretty common.

I feel so violated. Would you let your plumber test drive your new toilet?

Hm. Strange 40 is a lot. Most dealers won't drive a customer ordered car, new on the lot, yes, but not a customer order
