Yeah, another bumper thread..

OK, I've had my Tomkens on for about 2 years and just recently, I've started seeing some rust under the powder coating! Not cool! First of all, has anyone else had this issue? I always thought the whole idea behind powder coating was that it didn't rust?

I called Tomken and they said they would sand them down and recoat them, assuming I take them off and ship them to Colorado!

I bought Tomkens because they were the only bumper I could find that was rated for towing, so I could ditch my ratty old aftermarket Reese hitch that was on the Jeep when I bought it. I'm open to suggestions for a reasonably priced alternative. If I replace them, I need the following; front & rear bumpers matching, rear hitch tow rated, recovery points front & rear and an available rear tire carrier mounted to the bumper.

Looks nice, kinda spendy for my uses. We don't have any of those pesky rocks out here!

Is this what you run?

Yes it is. It's a good solid bumper and it's rated for towing. What's the budget?

Sand them down and spray them with Duplicolor spray on bed liner. Just under $10/can. 1 can will do your rear bumper. It did mine.
Before:

After:

A couple cans of this, some sand paper and a little elbow grease and your bumpers can look brand new.
