YJ Top Cargo Carrier

Here's the deal....

A friend has a cargo carrier, he says is in good shape, just may need a little paint...and i can take it off his hands for $80. It came off a '94 YJ. It mounts to the front windshield bracket and and somewhere in the rear...

I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of the possibility of this carrier fitting on my '00 TJ? And if not a perfect fit, maybe i could make it work.

Mind you i haven't seen it yet, and the best i'll get soon are a couple pics maybe. But i was hoping to get a little insight on the subject..I'd really be able to put it to use for trips camping and what not..

Trying to get as much info as possible, since the guy lives a good way away, and cant just run by and see for myself, or test fit it right now.
thanks for any input.

I'm not sure on the fit, but 80 bucks is a steal on something like that. Most of those bolt to the front windshield and the back corners of the body I would have him measure the length between the mounting brackets and then you measure where it should bolt and go from there.

Yea, thx. I gotta connect with this guy somehow..He's more of a friend of a friend..lol So its been a bit difficult to get a hold of him. But he said if i want it $80, i figured it was a great deal.

That the main area i'm concerned about is the front brackets, and how they would line up.

Also i wonder if the cargo carrier stay on, will i still be able to put the soft top up or down? The ones i've seen online, look like there isn't enough clearance..

The mounting points for the YJ and TJ windsheild brackets are different. If you are handy with light fabbing, you should be able to create different windsheild bracket mounts. The rear usually mounts at the tail light, behind the plastic body. You may need longer bolts to make sure you have enought bite to hold the cargo carrier. The bolt pattern is the same for the tail lights on the TJ and YJ models. Good luck, sounds like a good deal.
