You Jeep people think you're sooo tough....

Gotta have huge tires, gotta have skids, gotta have lockers, gotta have lifts, gotta have a Bikini top (oh wait, that one is true...), gotta have a winch.

Well, here's a video of Hell's Revenge in Moab that might make you change your mind.

(sorry if this was posted before, I've been skipping days and posts)

He only madeit, cause his trunk lid was "UP" and the wind BLEW him up the ridge !!

Many moons ago, in the U.P. of Michigan, a friend and I are gently riding down an abandoned rail line, just basically idling down the trail, bumping over the ties and enjoying the scenery. About 30 minutes into our drive a guy driving an old Cadillac Eldorado starts tailgating us and blowing his horn so he can PASS us. We pull over and he blows by us at about 40 m.p.h. and disappears in minutes. We look at each other and start to question the need to spend money beefing up 4X4's to handle this stuff. All we needed to do was buy a $200 junker and hit the trail and probably get a smoother ride out of the deal.

I know what you mean... A long time ago I found an old rutted, muddy, rocky mountain road. I made it to the end and when I was coming out, a Crown Vic with red and blue lights had apparently been following me. Let's just say I didn't know I was on posted land and the land owner had called the cops. The officer was cool though, I think he really enjoyed wheel'n the cruiser, I still can't believe that car made it up there! I didn't get in trouble but I did learn a lesson.
I'm thinking Crown Vics deserve a Trail Rated badge!

I like to tell the new guys that wat the big lifts and bug tires. Look at the old ww2 films and how the jeep was setup. Not only did they cross europe but fought a war at the same time. And they were useing tractor tires basicaly.

I almost flipped out because I thought a Hummer owner had infiltrated the website posting crap like "You Jeepers aren't tough at all"... and then I saw Geoff@Bestop... he can post whatever he wants

Reminds me of "corn field" wheeling in the "death mobile" when I was in college... . Ahhhh, youth!

I always wondered why I see scrapped passenger cars out in the middle of nowhere. Now I know.

I've always thought it would be fun to find an old r/awd junker on Craigslist and see just what I could do with it, how far I could take it into the wilderness. Might be an expensive tow if the frame snapped in half or something, though.

Geo Metro on Moab's Potato Salad Hill.
(if you've never been there: it's very easy to get to the bottom and top of this "trail" if you just drive around. )

This is true but they also had a huge suport group in the rear to fix and swap parts. I beleave it was somthing like less then 2 days rotation on a jeep b4 it was junk and had to be fixed up. Or at least thats what the Discovery Channel said. We all know they arnt allways the best sorce of info.

I did it through a wet hay field in a '74 Olds Delta 88 that I paid $100 for. Nothing like sliding sideways in a lead sled, wondering if the laws of physics really do apply to you.

Oh shoot. I would definitely pay a hundred bones for that. It's a great way to practice your drifting skills! I'm jealous.
