This is more of a you know you drive a Manuel when but whatever, when you get in a automatic car and try to press in a invisible clutch. And naturally keep one hand on the wheel. Lol it feels weird to drive auto after driving Manuel.

What electronic recall? I bought a jeep last week.... 2011 standard 6 speed and was just commenting on how it has nothing in 6th and I have to drop to 5th to get power...

Please explain....

Not recall, recal for recalibration of speedo.

If your computer is calibrated for 32" tires and you switch to 35" (e.g.) without changing anything then if your speedo says 65mph you are really going about 71mph. Note that it only measures the number of wheel rotations and since you will cover more ground per rotation with larger tires you are going faster than the speedo says. The tachometer will read correctly as it is measuring engine rpm, independent of wheel rpm.

However, larger tires will require more torque and engine rpm to get the vehicle moving, so you would feel a difference when going to larger tires.

What I don't understand is how you would get any *actual* performance improvement with respect to calibration since you are doing the shifting with a manual (not Manuel) transmission - if you ignore the gauges and drive by feel it should be identical before and after recalibrating the computer. You will see a difference in reported values such as vehicle speed and mpg, since the computer needs to know the tire size in order to calculate those.

Note that if you have an automatic transmission then calibration will affect performance since the shifting is controlled assuming a specific tire size and axle ratio.

Oh my gosh, I did that at least a couple times over the past week. My husband and I switched cars for the week and I kept forgetting I was in an Infinity G35x. A few nice Jeeps waved back. Maybe they remembered doing the same thing before too Haha!

I've waved to other Jeepers a couple times while either in my work vehicle or my wife's but nothing but confused looks back at me...Nobody's ever waved to me from a non-Jeep when I was in my Jeep but I was mall-crawling the other day with doors and top off when a guy coming the other way yells, "I LOVE your Jeep! I LOVE IT!!". Made me feel good.

Isn't it the best feeling ever!!! I have a very rare color jeep and one day this guy with a really rigged out jeep yelled out at me " Nice Jeep". I've owned it 2 weeks and done some slight mods to it.... But not a lot.

It still made me feel damn hot and my jeep was fine!

Good job!enjoy the feeling, you worked hard for it!!!!!!!

It's happening with great frequency now. Gas stations seem to be a place where people like to come up and talk to me about my Jeep. A young couple in a Patriot approached me and I wound up talking to them for about 20 minutes about the Wrangler answering a multitude of questions. Finally the husband says, "We are taking up a lot of your time, we'll let you go. We just wanted to Star Gaze a little..."

A couple nights ago, this attractive young girl walked past and said "I'm jealous of your Jeep." We talked for a while and I swear she was flirting with me. Then I suddenly realized that I'm a 42 year old married guy with a stained shirt stretched over my paunch....but for those couple minutes my Jeep made me feel twenty years younger! I think that's how you know you drive a Jeep, when you feel twenty years younger just being around your vehicle.

That's funny.

I was picking up my boy from karate and one of the little girls came past with her mom. The mom says, "She really loves your Jeep. She can't believe you don't have doors!" I say to the little girl, "Can you believe someone stole my doors??" She looked at me weird (like most people do) and when she walked away I heard her ask, "Mommy, did someone really steal his doors?"

I was grinning from ear to ear. See, Jeeps are just fun.

Lmao About 2 weeks ago I Picked up my first jeep ever .... After wanting it for over 20 years i finally had my dream car. No more kids, no more dad saying they aren't safe... I had my jeep! So I was driving home from the dealer, top down, blonde hair blowing in the wind, chest bouncing.....

All the sudden I watch the guy in the 18 wheeler crane his neck to look back at me and then he pulls his big air horn. I picked up my phone and top down and all yell into the phone at my spouse," omg omg I can't hear you but guess what?? IM HOT AGAIN! I'm fing hot again! Trucks are beeping at me! I'm fing hit again!"

Then I hung up the phone, downshifted to 5th and blew outta there blonde hair blowing back at the truck driver.

I will drive a 2 door, rag top, manual transmission midlife crisis jeep forever!

I feel sexy again in my jeep!

When you look at the speedo and it shows top speed of 100 and you know it should read about 68.5

When its got less than 4k miles on it and you still spend 2 hours going over it with a torque wrench and assemble a tool bag for it before a trip.
