Every time I change pages on the Wrangler Forum this afternoon I get the message below. It only happens on this forum. Is something going on here or is it a setting on my computer?
Yup, I just started getting the long running script banner too. Along with the browser back button continually not working, and the pop-up ad videos, this site is greedily going down hill fast. Thanks IT and Ad department! I do use the most up-to-date version of IE, but none of this mess happens on ANY other site. I'm not sure which of the 16 ads on this current page are causing the long running script problem, but the large one at the top of the right column seems to take an excessively long time to load.
I'm getting the long-running script message this morning...and it is making the site pretty much impossible to view. It needs to be fixed.

Yeah, I spent all morning trying to figure out if there was something that I could fix on my end, but nothing worked. This site is virtually unusable now. I'd really hate to switch to a different Jeep forum, because this one is, or was, by far the best. Hopefully, someone in the WF IT department can figure this problem out real soon.
For those using firefox, there are some add-on's that cures almost all these problems:
Adblock Plus 2.2.4 (You control exactly what shows up on your screen, including ads)
Adblock Plus pop-up addon 0.8
Advertising Cookie Opt-out 1.5
Since using these add-on's(for over a year now), my browsing on this site and any any other has been sweet relief. If your not sure how to use/add them, invite a geek friend over to help ya fix your PC
Today started out fine. Then I clicked on someones profile to see what kind of Jeep they had, and when I hit the back button, I got the script error and the ads had returned on the right side of the page. I went to my settings and verified that the ads were turned off (they were) so I logged out and logged back in and am back to no ads and no script errors. Hope this helps you diagnose the issue.
Am a supporting Member and also experience the same delays in responding owing to long-running script.
Am an IE user and no other Site or Forum is producing this issue.
Very time consuming as well as frustrating.
Last night, tried to reply to a post using my iPhone and the Forum app and was tossed out each time. Wondering if that was part of the ongoing script issue.
I recently came to this Site from that ‘other’ Jeep forum and have enjoyed the Site, but will not hang around long if this problem continues.
Here’s hoping for a prompt, positive resolution.
Glad I'm not the only one! Takes 30-second to change pages. I finally timeouts and states "WranglerForum can not open long-running script" ask you to stop script. Site getting to point, that it no longer functions.
Now, besides getting the long-running script message every time, I frequently get a pop-up that says "WranglerForum.com is not responding. Windows is checking for a solution." I don't get that message from any other site.
That's one that I have never seen before. I'll run this by AG, but I believe that it is resident in your system. Are you using IE?
Sorry, it's not resident to his system. Same issue is happening to everyone that has responded to this issue. Some software or advertisement is trying open internal to the site but script is hogging system up. Causing it to timeout. Please advise with a solution.

Obviously not. That response came after 1 member complained about the issue so it is logical to assume (hate that word) that it may be an issue for that member only. Of course when multiple members added to the thread, that theory went out the window.
I have sent a copy of this thread along with my thoughts as to what may be the cause to tech. Hopefully they will get this straightened out VERY shortly and everything will get back to normal.

We are still looking into this issue for IE users receiving the script errors. We have escalated this matter as it seems to only occur for IE users. For those willing to try, download firefox or chrome in the meantime as these browser seem to work perfectly fine running the forum scripts.
