Selecting specific forums

Hi!

First of all, a big "thanks" to all of the moderators here. You guys and girls certainly have your hands full keeping us all in line and keeping the forums running smoothly! Please know that I appreciate all of the hard work you do.

I do have a quick question and maybe I missed it someplace -

Is there a way to select specific forums/sub-forums that I want to view when I click "New Posts"?

Currently, when I click "New Posts", I see everything that is new. That's great and all, but a lot of them don't apply and as active as this site it, that creates a lot of stuff to sort through. What I mean is, I don't need to see "New Posts" on the TJ, YJ, CJ, Military, etc. forums since I'm only interested in the JK. A YJ or CJ owner probably feels the same way about the JK.

Also, the "supporting members cantina" NEVER shows up when you click "New Posts".

Any help?

Thanks!

I've noticed this as well.. I recall another forum site which has this option upon user login.. Like "I want to see only what I want to see" sort of thing.. is this what your referring to?

Yep, exactly.

As an example, I remember being on a Kawasaki motorcycle forum years ago and being able to select, by check-box, which forums you wanted to see. As you can imagine, a Kawasaki forum would be huge, and it was. No sense is sorting through a ton of sport bike threads when you had a cruiser and vice versa.

Ok.. was wondering cause there is a "blue" double down turned arrow ( ) on the right side of each forum area.. clicking this will hide those forums..

The only suggestion that I have for you at this point is to go through the forum. Open the main heading for the forum. As an example, we will start with the TJ Tech thread. Click on the forum from the home page. At the top use the "thread tools" drop down menu and select "Ignore Forum". You will have to go through all of the forums (ie, tj general, build, pics, etc)that you do not wish to see and repeat this procedure until you have it down to just what you want to view.

As for the cantina, it is a restricted area and as it can only be viewed by supporting members it cannot be listed in the new posts.

Awesome! I'll certainly give that a try!

Really appreciate the advice! Thanks!

Makes sense about the cantina, too.
