Video add overload!!

Hi everyone!

I just noticed this today, as far as I know it hasn't ever happened before.

I'm a tab-browser. I scroll through the different sub-forums and when I see a thread I want to look at, I open it in a new tab and keep scrolling through the sub-forums until I have enough reading material to browse whilst sitting on the throne or something. Today, I did my usual "new-tab, new-tab" about 5 or 6 times when my speakers starting blabbing all kinds of crazyness at me! I had to go to each new page and stop the video ads from playing (Some had 2 going at the same time on one page). Some of them I would pause but they would reload to the beginning and start playing again.

I know some people are going to say "Don't want ads? Become a supporter!" But I just wanted to say the video ads with audio are a little overkill IMO. It's like beating casual users into being a supporting member or they'll be bombarded with videos. Almost as bad as pop-ups from the early 2000's!!

I realize there may not be much that can be done about it, I just wanted to speak my mind a little bit.

I Love Jeeps!

Can I ask what browser you are using? This isn't something that is normal for WF that I know of.

The best two things you could ever do to Firefox/Palemoon.

Also, admins should note that the timing on this coincides with the "My recent posts don't show up in the user panel" AND the "My business just flagged W.F. as hosting malicious content / botnet" threads. Something smells fishy here.

I got a ton of video adds in multiple tabs in FF earlier. Didn't realize it didn't leave me logged in from last time. Logging in got rid of them.

I'm getting them again while logged in now. Jose Cuervo, esurance, Boars Head deli meats and some Blackfish ad. Some won't even let you pause them and continue playing if you click them. Some of them don't just play once but will load up a new video ad after they finish playing. They're always on the right side underneath the recent threads box.

No, none of the stuff on the right side appears for me now and the threads span the width of the page.

Send a message via MSN to HelenaAG
can you take a screen shot of this please, also clear your cookies and browser history and let me know if that helps.

I would also do a virus scan, sounds like someone piggybacked on an add you clicked or site you visited.
