welcome section gripe

I've been on forums for a while and whats the deal with going threw and post whoring every single thread in the new member section. It really clutters up the new post sections with a solid page of threads. All form Joe_Jeeper_123 and the all say Hi welcome welcome to WF. Then when a member actully asks a question in the new section its Hi welcome post your question in the TJ section. IMO there should be an Introduce your self thread. Or just make the post in that section not count towards your total.

Hi Irongrave!

Welcome to the WF Site Help & Support section of the website. This section is for: "Issues or Questions on how to navigate or utilize the forum? Ask away!!!"

Seriously, I think it's to make newcomers feel welcome, like a hug, but less gay.

I see no issue with it. It's not like the post counts matter... And most of us post in off topic (like here) 99% of the time anyway.
