17 JKU, what would you do?

Hey folks,
I am new here but not the forums or mods to most of my vehicles. So hello.

I am buying a 2017 JKU early next year and I am on a budget like most of us. My goal is to get a base 24C package, I don't care about power windows. I am ordering with connectivity, alpine, auto with tracklock diff. Hardtop and the led headlight/fogs (if they look cheesy I'll sell).

When I say base I mean base model. 3.21s and all.

3.5 Rock Krawler with 37's is the plan.

Here is what I need some input on. What would you do to make the D30 last with moderate trails and overall a capable rig for trails but after that load the family up and roll over for some ice cream. I don't plan on lockers and and full rock crawler action so what I have bellow is my plan. I would love some insight on what you've done and what you would do different or now at all. I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong game place. See cart below.

This is the goal.

Thanks.
Instead of putting all that $$ into the D30 I would just replace it with a built Dynatrac D44. Also you don't need those spacers with rims with the correct backspacing/offset of about -12mm aka 4.5". And lastly get your parts list together and PM Rick @Quadratec to save a ton of $$. Over the last year I saved over $2,500 from ordering from them.

Seems to be the general consensus on the D30. However, wife + 7k D44 = divorced. She's already spinning on the cost of jeep plus parts. If I blow it up then there is a way out.

Thanks for advising me on the rep to save $$. One one of the reasons I love forums right here. Appreciate the reply. Anything else you'd do over? What have you done so far to save that kinda money.

Well, I would only do an aftermarket built D44 and wouldn't build up a D30. You might also want to add a hydro-assist steering kit with 37" tires. If you go to 35" tires you will save a lot of $$$. Or you can just save up for longer until you can afford to do everything you want correctly. Personally my Jeep is over-built for anything I plan to throw at it, that's the way I wanted my build to come out.

I would not run 37s on a D30. If you plan to wheel it, 37s are rough on a D44, even if it is reinforced. If you "have to have" 37s, save up and buy a base Rubicon, or look for one that is a couple years older that you can get for less than a new one.

Agreed. Jeeps hold their value as we all know. I'm getting an pretty good deal on a new one. Something to say about knowing exactly what kind of abuse the jeep has been through.

I see the pattern with 37" and the D30. This is why I wanted some input from those who tried it. I might have to find a way on the D44.

Some things you can get by with and when it breaks it's easy to fix. Other areas are a complete PITA to fix and almost always fail at the worst time possible, like out in the middle of nowhere with no cell service, tow truck service etc. Especially with a family no way I would risk it...,

As others stated if you want 37's most state stock rubicon drivetrain is the bare minimum tomreliably take that.

I would also consider power windows, totally agree power windows aren't needed in a 2 door but it's a complete pita having to roll the back windows up manually. Especially when it's raining :) I would do windows over the alpine setup
