2008 wrangler already has problems...

I bought a 2008 4 door last year. Yesterday the car wouldn't turn over right away. I thought maybe it was nothing after it started, but today it did it again.

First American car I gave purchased... And problems already. Any ideas what this could be?

Of course. American cars are all crap. Trade it in tomorrow for a Honda.

Wink

Yeah, just go all "Anti-American" on us because you have 1 problem with your Jeep......IN A YEAR, OMG!!!! ---- that is horrible!

Naah, you are probably right....of course it is just cheap American junk......bring it back and like Daggo said, get a Honda. We don't need your patronization nor your patriotism......

Wow, what a perfectly entitled & callous example of the state of our ailing country.......

He was not knocking American Vehicles. If you do not have anything useful to add to help out on his question/problem.....Move to the next thread. I have always bought American. I have just had problems with this one. .....Mine stayed in the shop (at the dealer) for the first two years. They gave me a brand new Durango with six miles on it for a loaner. It broke down two hours later. They brought me a Chrysler Sebring, and it broke down the next day. Take it back to the Dealer and let them figure it out. I would also tell them you need a rental at no charge. That is what I did.

Listen Scuba Dude...don't inform me who and what to respond to, got it? Let me check...... oh yeah, you weren't the original poster were you?
Nope, just another guy who wants to play Big Brother & put his two cents in.....

"First American Car and problems already...." <------ that would classify as knocking American cars, no?????"

Yet again we have someone stepping in for someone else who was not even the original poster and telling me what he meant to say..... stay out of it and mind your own business.

Obviously not everyone has the same bad luck as you and if I remember correctly none of your aforementioned "problematic American vehicles" was a Jeep, so I cannot see the rationale for your mindless banter.

it has been a year, not an hour nor a day....I wouldn't say he has reliability issues.

Please cease from playing Big Brother, it is unbecoming. No mystery why this is most unsupported Jeep forum out there.

As you did not read my post correctly.. Jeep is a Chrysler product. My Major Problems... New jeep, 4 rear differentials in the first year. Second year, engine blew the paint ALL cracked transmission went out. Those are just SOME of the problems I have had with My New 05 Jeep. It is totally rebuilt now and No problems. I have two Harleys in the garage (no Sportsters) and two Mustangs 66 and 06Gt. No problems. My 91 Jeep too, had no problems. I am sorry if I did not pay attention to what you consider anti American. Why not say "congrats on your Jeep, here is what you might want to check". My first car was a VW. Next could have been an American. Do you know his story. If I cant drive my Jeep to work, I have Reliability Issues.

Blah Blah Blah......This stupid rhetoric is not worth my time........

Got a problem, bring it to the dealer. Stop bashing American products simply because he had one small issue on his Jeep in 1 year of service.

Sorry, it hits a nerve, especially as a American soldier.

You didn't see me bashing. It IS common knowledge American Vehicle Manufacturers are lagging far behind in the industry. It is sad, because we invented the Automobile. I buy, and always will buy American. Thank you for your Service to our Country. My nephews are also in. One is a Navy Seal, the other a Marine.

True, it was the Germans.

No, stating two facts in succession does not equal bashing. That's what we call a logical fallacy. He's purchased an American car for the first time, and he's having issues. He'd like help. Refrain from berating him.

You could just as easily have stayed out it instead of flying off at the original poster and assuming he was bashing American cars. He asked for help. He'd like ideas. That's what he will get in this thread from now on.

If you have an answer to a question someone posts, please by all means, post up and help someone. But, and I stress this to EVERYONE, refrain from berating members asking questions. If you (and this is a general you to everyone) plan on doing nothing but posting in bold and stomping around with your unders twisted up about a perceived slight, please step back and rethink your post.

This thread will now resume in a manner that is helpful to the original poster who is having an issue with his jeep.

thanks.

True. Germans built the first true automobile. Gasoline. Oh well, If I was the OP, I would take the Jeep back and let the dealer fix it. Mine is still under warranty (for 20k more miles) and I take it back when I have an issue. His being an 08, has plenty of warranty left.

Sorry if this came off wrong. As someone on here said, this was the first American car I have ever bought, and the first time I have ever had problems with a car this new.

Regardless, I love the Wrangler, it is hands down the best car IO have ever owned.... I'm just disappointing in the problems, which I had always been warned about with an American car.

I don;t want this to get into a a whole debate. Thanks for those that answered the question. I am taking it in tomorrow, and hopefully its a loose wire or something.

VISMICH! Hey, Just so you understand, this individual is constantly attacking people for their views, ideas and whatever else is not his - sorry it had to happen AGAIN, and frankly, the engineer should be released from his contract here on the forum....maybe the Terror will finally come out and do it so we can all have peace. Stay cool!

Someone got a Verbal from the Terror just leave it at that. Some things are best just sent in PM.

@OP Nothing like Electronics! I swear to god I'm gonna find a very old CJ one of these days and be done with all the fancy stuff. What did you own before?

Constantly attacking is an interesting turn of phrase. It would denote someone attacking in every single thread they participate in, which I know for a fact is untrue in this situation. We have some very passionate people on this forum who sometimes do come off like they argue at every turn, but the moderation staff deals with legitimate issues as they arise. Passion is not one of them.

The Terror as you mentioned dealt with the issue in this thread. And, I assure you the moderation staff of WF has all the issues on the board well within our sights. Though you may feel we are not watching, we are the Eye in the Sky, so you may return to your everyday posting.

Like I said before, this thread will resume on topic or it will be laid to rest with some vacations. I'm tired, I'm mean, and I'm not in the mood for this cock fight.

I'd check the gear position sensor since it's intermittent. Also sometimes the steering wheel lock gets wonky and can keep a car from starting.
17 years as a fleet manager; I had plenty of no-start situations on my American-made vehicles....
