2009 Wrangler X - Engine turning/ignition delay?

Just purchased an 09 Wrangler X (6 speed manual). Love it. I have noticed when I start the car and turn the key to the ignition position, there is about a half-second delay until the engine starts turning.

Not a huge deal, however, with past cars (non-Jeeps) I have always had immediate feedback (engine turning) upon hitting the ignition position with the key.

Anyone notice this or have any information?

Thanks!!

Scott

I think it has to do with the key having some chip in it that tells the car its ok to start.

I'm ok with that part.. just don't like the window crank hitting me in the leg.. any suggestions other than power windows or taking the whole door off?

All window cranks hit you in the leg... They can't put them anywhere else.
