2012 JKU Transmission issues

Ok here is the the scenario. Off road, four wheel low, sway bar disconnected, traveling normally about 5 to 15 mph. Come to a stop, reverse direction, and nothing! Put transmission back in drive and nothing! Try to shift into different forward gears and nothing! Put transfer case in high, two wheel drive and nothing! Put transfer case back in low range and still nothing! Cycle key off and back on, start engine, put transmission back in drive and go for the rest of the day with no problems.

This only happens in low range four wheel drive, and then after an hour or so of wheeling. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. It doesn't seem to matter if i'm on level ground, or climbing, it still happens. The dealer is clueless.

I have had similar problems in my 13 JKUR. In 4lo only, sometimes it comes out of gear, other times, when I have put the main trans in N then back to D (in 4 lo) it wont engage. I pull on the Tcase lever and most of the time it engages, but sometimes I have to shift all through the gears to get is working again...

I need to take it to the dealer and see if the tcase is adjusted right.

Had a similar incident this past spring with my 2013 JKUR while deep into a trail. Worried I was going to have to tow it out which would have destroyed the jeep but cycled the system and got traction again. When I took it into the dealership, they replaced the transmission control module (TCM) and it seems to have addressed the problem, at least it hasn't happened again when I'm wheeling in 4lo for extended periods.

Just had this happen to my 13 JKUR. Was wheeling in a remote challenging area (Coke ovens trail in AZ) in 4 low. Suddenly it popped out and would not go back in low. I tried shifting into reverse and it just spun, then finally caught. Went to drive, same thing. Shut it off and restarted and then it worked for a little ways again, but again popped out and the whole trans started acting up. Took a lunch break and shut it off. After starting again had the same results in within a few blocks distance (3-5 mph). I was far from anything so I took an easier route out and made it home.

Dropped by the dealer today and they are on a skeleton crew until after the holidays. I have not problems in 2wd or in 4 hi.

I will see what they say when I can get it in there in a week or so.

Just a follow up...

Before brining it into dealer I discovered a slight tranny fluid leak between transmission and transfer case. Dealer had it four days and replaced the seals. Took it wheeling and it stayed in 4 low with no problems as had occurred before.

However, just checked it again this weekend and it is leaking again! Frustrating to say the least. Now it will go back to the dealer...

Mine does it all the time - in 4L & only when it's cold, snowy & icy - never in the summer. Shift from park to drive or reverse & nothing happens. Or from drive to reverse or reverse to drive - whatever it's the same scenario. It's been to the dealership for it but of course it won't do it while it's there & I don't really want them driving circles in the parking lot in 4L. I have checked the tranny levels & all are fine. They searched Chryslers database & found nothing. It pisses me off.

Dropped my 13 JKUR off for the dealer to check it out but they could not replicate the problem and apparently it didn't set any codes.
