2014 JKU Remote Start Recommendations

So I have a JKU on order w/ 6 speed manual. Obviously I cannot get a factory/dealer remote start. I know I will also need to find an after market shop willing to do a manual install.

What I am asking for is recommendations of BRAND of remote starter. Are they all pretty much the same? Is the quality of the install the most important aspect?

Thanks for the advice.

Did you check with the dealership? They asked me if I was a manual or auto because there were 2 different part numbers...one had an additional switch or something that worked with the clutch. Maybe he was confused and it had to do with something else but that's the "vibe" I got off him.

You know how sales guys are. He had no idea, just agreed with my thought that they couldn't do it. I will ask specifically when I take delivery.

I have a Viper system in my auto TJ. You'll want a system that reduntant safeties to ensure the remote start can't engage when the vehicle is in gear. There is usually a little dance you need to do when exiting the vehicle to ensure that it is in neutral or the starter will not crank. Some cheaper systems may forgo these safety precautions which is not what you want at all.

I installed my system myself and it wasn't too bad. I don't know what installing a non-Mopar system would do to your warranty, but you can't beat the convenience!

Check out Astrostart. Most popular auto start in upper mid-west. (Where it's cold and needed!) another is Compustar. I don't know if they are still as popular but had some really cool features.
