Mounted my 52" curved this weekend, and like all the rest I got the whistle sound. Found the YouTube-video where they talked about silcone in 20 cm from the end to solve this or use edge trim.

Used silcone on all gaps at both ends, but still I got the whistle noise and also in heigher speed I end up with vibrating sounds.

Any tip before I remove it completly! :atomic:

I used window weather tape on the bottom of the light bar and it helped a bit. I just realized i have those wind isolators that came with my rough country light bar that i just threw back in the bag lol. guess ill go dig them up and give them a try!

I used rubber baseboard molding from home depot, 48" long, less than $2 each - I got two pieces, measure how deep the slot is with a credit card or something, and cut it so about 1/2 inch is sticking out. a couple of screws through the fin will hold it in place, i did one on the top and one on the bottom - no whistle and no buffeting

I used closed cell packing foam pieces cut to 3/4" wide and about 1" long shoving them in at random distances into the fins using a flat tip screw driver. The random distances breaks up the harmonics of one fin to the next so that if they "sing" there's only one singing rather than all of them at the same frequency.

Prior to alteration my Rigid Industries bar whistled at 40-45 mph and now I've tested to 70 mph and no odd noises.

Try this. Set the light on a forward cant, about 5-10 degrees, to help prevent buffeting. Cut three strips of duct tape approx 6" long, I use black to blend in, place one in the center wrapped top to bottom over the fins and the others on each end. Killed my banshee howl for $0.

i tried everything to get the whistle to stop then i saw a video and realized the whistle was not coming from the back at all, mine was coming from the front. the screws on the front of the light were make the whistle so i ran a piece of duct tape along the front, top and bottom and it went away. i don't even know its there, one day i will remove the tape and fill the well where the screws set in with black silicone so you will not even notice it. good luck and if i recall someone did post about it somewhere here and that is how i stumbled across it. good luck
