7months old and leaking oil.

2013 JKU 6 spd bought it in August. Went past 12,000 miles earlier this week. Discovered today that there is oil leaking out of the slot in the housing under the clutch. Greeeeeeaaaaat! Guess I will be sitting at the service department when the dealer opens in the morning.

Boy that stinks.

Don't let them tell you: "Well, because you have been driving your Jeep, the leak isn't covered under the warranty"

Why is it that it seems like people think the dealer is the bad guy?

Experience. I had another vehicle (not Jeep) in 3 different dealers, multiple times for almost stalling when below 125 degree coolant temp once driven more than 10 feet. They did all sorts of things and then gave up. No "error" code and their excuse was they had to wait for another one of the same type to test with...

Well, just like I thought, needs a new rear seal. At least they didn't even flinch about covering it under warranty. I just hope the next one lasts more than 12,000 miles.

Why do you ask? Are you a dealer?
I am sure there is a two way relationship that sometimes make the dealer look bad but I am sure some customers may have abused things beyond reason. However it is just human nature to think that the dealer is the bad guy because we read the bad stories from the regular guy (us) here. There are no open conversations with a dealer. If in fact you are one then please talk to us.

Pretty much a cut and dry diagnosis. I hope it didn't damage the clutch, and the repair lasts a very long time for you! Good luck!

Not a lot of jeep owning folks have good experiences at the dealer. Mind you, these are 30 and 40k vehicles that are Trail Ready. That means road in Chrysler speak...

I hate Jeep dealers and their masters. Jeeps are great vehicles, very poorly designed and even worse constructed. I have 7000 miles on my 2013 and no issues yet. But I have an AEV lift and 35's. So I pray to Buddha that no issues pop up in the next 29000 miles. Unlikely.....
