Acceleration Sound – Normal?

I just picked up a 2008 JK Unlimited Rubicon. I noticed that when I press the gas petal, in addition to the “normal” engine sounds, I hear what can be described as a rattling/buzzing sound or a sound you would get if you put a playing card between your bike spokes and spun the wheel really fast. I only hear the sound when I press the petal, and I replicated the sound when I was in park in addition to being in motion. It sounds like the noise is coming from the dash area / just behind the dash. It does become louder the further the petal is pressed, but it’s often muffled by the engine noise. Is this a normal sound, or should I have this checked out?

Thanks for the reply, but I do not believe that those two cases fix my problem. Mine is only on acceleration, gets louder the harder you push on the accelerator, and happens independent of the engine being cold/warm, the heater on/off.

Does the yellow indicator light with the wheels swerving come on when this noise happens?

No. Everything appears normal, and the Jeep accelerates in a normal manner. I think that I've pinpointed the noise to the upper left side of the dash (sitting in the driving position)... Sounds like it is behind that part of the dash.

Hey.

1) Yep, the problem is still there. Dealer said not to worry about it... but it's sure annoying.

2) It happens w/ the radio on and off. It's not due to radio interference.
