Anyone install ARB locker in D44 w/ 4.88 Nitro Gears?

I had a shop attempt to install the ARB locker I purchased, but it does not fit correctly. I purchased the ARB-RD116. Looking on ARB web site I am not sure if it should have been a RD-117.
I am installing it in a stock housing (DRZS Next Gen. Dana 44 HD Rear Axle) with Nitro-Gear NGA-GPJKNONRUB-4.88 ring and pinion. See pictures below showing the issue on installation we are having.

At this point I am not sure which ARB locker I should have gotten. According to the web site I bought it from, It should have been the RD-116 because it states "ARB Air Locker DANA 44, 30 SPL, 3.92 & UP".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how can this be resolved?

Yes I believe you needed the RD-117 that's what I put in mine. Deeper gears means higher numbers 3:92 and down 4:88

So, I am reading the gear number incorrectly? The larger the number the "lower" or "down" the gearing?

Yes that would be right. I put the ARB /. RD-117 in my 2013 jku went from 3:21 gears to 4:56s

Thanks! Now I will try to return this one and get the correct one.
This is going to be an expensive mistake!

Yea, Iam kinda surprised the shop didn't catch that or at least double check the part numbers. I sure hope you get it resolved without dropping a ton more cash...

Just out of curiosity I assume you have a D30 front axle, what do you have for your carrier ?

Yeah, that's really the answer to his question -- instead of buying the correct locker, buy one that's weaker. Wow, what a jackass.

ARB labels their lockers as *numerically* Up. Cant remember the number i ordered for my D44 but it was labeled for 3.73 and up, because I knew later that I wan't 4.88s.

Yep, D30 up front, but no locker going in that one. gear to 4.88 only.

The install shop actually discovered it. I had simply ordered the parts to have them install it. It is actually cheaper to buy parts on-line and have them ship to me. (I am not in U.S.) I would have thought the store I ordered them from would have corrected me on any mismatches since I ordered gears and locker at the same time. I had to tell them make/model/doors etc... I will not mention the store here because they are actually very good to deal with. So I will attempt to return the locker as plan (A).

A bit of a different subject but did you buy a front carrier as well? When going from 3.21 to 4.56 or higher you need a new carrier as well.

Yeah, I am clear across the pond. I spent nearly all my Navy career in Japan and have just stayed... I had to get a Jeep since I do not see ever moving back any time soon, and if I do I can deliver mail in it. LOL It is RHD! Because I work on the Navy base here I can get things shipped to me USPS which is way cheaper than international USP or FedEx.

I do not think they changed the carrier on the front, but they have already installed the ring and pinion in the front. I used Nitro Gears for the D30.

I have to say, I called the company and told them the situation and it was resolved very fast. Great company to deal with!

Sounds like a good ending to something that could have gotten expensive!
