Apologies in advance... another tire thread

I ordered my JKU last week and it will be another 4 weeks or so before it arrives. I have already purchased some interior mods but I am planning to upgrade the wheels, tires and to do a lift before I pick it up from the dealer.

Lift will be an AEV DUALSPORT SC 3.5 and going with Mammoth Type 88 17x9s so my last decision is what tire to go with.

Looking for some input from you all on where you would land considering some on my "driving routines/situations"

The JKU will be my daily driver but I am building it so that when I do start getting into more off roading I have a setup that won't limit me too much. I am from Canada so I will have 5 months of snow and I plan to run the same wheel/tire setup year round. The majority of my driving is in the city and I average less than 12,000KM(7,500 miles) per year.

My top picks so far in the 35x12.3/R17

BFG KO2
BFG KM2
Nitto Trail Grappler
Nitto Ridge Grappler
Toyo Open Country MT

I like the looks and capability of the MTs but I assume they will be louder on the road and may wear down quick than an AT tire, but with my small amount milage I put on the most tires will last me a number of years without issue. Then there is snow and ice to consider I know. Obviously snow for me is the bigger one, ice is ice and if it's that bad out, Jeep or not I'd likely stay in LOL though if I was out in icy conditions IMO its more about the driver knowing what their vehicle can and cannot do (in that or any other condition).

I have used the search features and done a lot of reading but as I am drawing near to a decision I would like to get a few alternate points of view.

Thanks!

with the 3.5 aev I would go with KO2 in 37's just a bit bigger than the other 35's other then the ko2's of course and probably lighter and will do better on snow and ice than the others. Also has a snowflake designation of that is important.

I was talking to the owner of AEV (he lives close by and his r&d shop is very close) He told me thinks the ko2 37 is perfect for what most aev people are doing. He said that he has beat on his rigs and the only time he bent an axle on a D44 was when he was getting air for a photo shoot. He has a pretty spectacular fleet at his disposal.

I am running the Trail Grappler on my TJ and like them for my needs but mine is NOT a daily driver and I don't run it in the winter. I would say x2 on the KO2, I ran those on all of the light truck daily drivers I've had in the past and they were always a great all around compromise on looks and performance. They do have the snowflake but I found they weren't particularly great on ice. What part of Canada do you live in? I'm in the interior of British Columbia and at this point in my life run dedicated winter/ice tires on my daily driver.

Thanks guys.
@jadmt
I was planning to go with 35's for now as I plan to keep my stock fenders for now. My thought would be on the the next batch of tires go towards the 37s with flats at that time. But something new to consider.... :)
@Inlandman
I am in southern Ontario, so we get hit with a big storm then no snow for a month, big storm, no snow for a month etc etc. This year we really have not had snow since January, well other than a quick storm or two but it just melted a few days later.

you will have no issues at all with the ko2 37's and stock fenders with the 3.5 they have more than one like that at AEV r&d an they look great and they use them. People don't think they do but they do. I know they have done the dusy, rubicon, owner told me he has been to Moab over 25X he has done every hard trail in moab including pritchet canyon.
