Am running a 50" light bar on my battery and my smittybilt 10k winch just came in and I was wondering if any of you guys have run same set up or know if the single battery should run both just fine or if I should get another battery and have 2 in the engine compartment
Welcome to the forum! A single battery is what most people are running in a JK, for winch and lights. But if you want to run a second do a search on dual battery and you will find a few folks that have done it.
I'm new to the forum too and have been looking into this as I am getting ready to install a compressor while running a 50 inch light bar, 20 inch, and with a future winch i worry the amp draw would be too much of a drain. doing reading I think it said that a winch under full pull draws something like 700 amps. Not totally sure about that but I'm sure its up there. The good batteries have between 750-850cca. seems like a pretty big load for a single battery.
The Die Hard Platinum is a great battery for this use. I was not willing to pay quite so much so I just went with the Advance Auto AGM H7 battery. Largest physical battery I could fit, mind you I'm in a 14'.
The Advance Auto AGM's have great reviews and you can almost always find a coupon for like $50 off online.
Just picked up a 2X at batteries plus. Dual purpose cycling/starting 775 cc 100% virgin lead, 100% spill proof, anti vibration, 5 year FREE replacement, made in the USA.
