Thread JACK. Can the small $60 compressers fill a 3 gallon tank or is that asking too much from them?

ARB dual compressor with a MORE mounting plate in the engine compartment. Sits above the brake cylinder.

^this

A few different brand options but this is a great mounting point.

Installing mine next week. Am running the air intake into the cabin.

I was cheap and didn't want to buy another part for the jeep so I mounted my ARB like this.

Different Way To Mount ARB On Board Air Compressor

It takes my ARB 60 seconds to fill a 1.5 gal tank to the pressure shut off (90 or 100psi - can't remember exactly) so I'd guess 4-5 minutes for a lower quality one to fill a 3 gallon??? That doesn't seem too crazy. I bet it's smoking hot by then though. It's probably 50% duty (I think that means let it rest a minute for every minute you run it).

I did my ARB off of the master brake cylinder. Works great.. Takes about 2 to 3 minutes to fill a 315/75R/16 Duratrac from 8 to 30psi

Under passenger side dash. I made this bracket and attached it to the carpet studs under there. I would not use those bolts for the larger compressors.

I have a 2dr as well and I'm considering the ARB twin. Have you experienced any issues running it under the seat?

I've been thinking about getting one and putting it under the hood, there's a nice writeup on wayalife:
ARB High Output On-Board Air Compressor Under the Hood JK Installation Write-Up
But I really like the under passenger seat option. I can't quite figure out where the one in Lee Indy's post is though...

Fair enough, I only shared the post because it seemed like a good write up, not because I support the site. That's the only thing I've seen from them because someone linked me to the write up once awhile ago.

granted some of the tech is decent.
BUT.
when he owned JKF you would be banned for bringing up a vendor or manufacturer that didnt pay to be on the site. and he ended up running JKF into the ground and no one wanted to have their name associated with that site. and all the banned people started JKO. Eddie then sells JKF and starts wayalife with a serious free love theme. but he is doing the same tricks. i was banned for starting a prototype thread. he said i could pay him to get let back onto the board. Eddie oh is a prick.

if your interested in what JKF / Project GAYK and WAYALIFE are really about i suggest reading this. Were You Banned? Or Generally Have Comments - Vent Here. - JKowners.com : Jeep Wrangler JK Forum

gotcha... I use this forum most of the time anyway. I am a member on the others, but rarely contribute... mostly information reuse... (sorry for thread derailment).

ANYWAY - I plan on trying the ARB under the hood with the bracket.
