Best place to mount a CB in a JK

All ideas welcome please! I am trying to figure out the best location for a CB. I have a '13 with a manuel tranny.

Cobra 75 mounted behind the glove box with the Mic run up to the dash. Takes up almost no room and is hidden. You can unplug the Mic and stick it out of the way when not in use.

I keep a handheld hard wired to the external ant in the console. Works great.

Right above your rearview mirror. Cobra Cb 19 has a mount that works perfect.

I used sticky Velcro to mount it in this position... Quadratec Exclusive JK-CBMD - CB Radio Mounting Bracket for 07-10 JeepĀ® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with Factory Center Console - Quadratec

Whenever I need to remove it to mess around with the seat, it takes 2 seconds with the velcro

I put my CB in a Tuffy overhead consol. It's up, out of the way, and I installed my sPOD switches on the side of it. Check out this thread, for a little more info on the consol...

Write Up: sPOD switches installed inside Tuffy overhead console

Do you have any pics of how you attached the mount above the mirror?

I don't have the special mount people use to attach it to the hook up there. But here is the way I mounted mine. I used washers on the outer 2 mounting points on the bracket to help level it out because the trim piece has a curve in it. It's slightly angled to the driver side to give a better viewing angle and help with clearing the coaxial cable in front of the windshield. It's a very tight for but it can be done.

This was before the use of washers you can see how crooked it is mounted from that trim piece having a curve in it. It might not bother most people but I tend to have a minor case of OCD when it comes to thing like that.

I went with the Cool Tech LLC complete cb kit, may cost a little more then putting together your own kit but when you order the kit it literally comes with everything that you will need. and the antenna mount is very solid and looks good too.Cool Tech LLC. CB All-in-One Kit

Corba DX19 Velcro'd inside to the back of the console bin. plugged in to the power outlet. Antenna runs up the passenger side into the wire notch.
Mic fits in the console also.
