Check out the SmittyBilt brand. Sold at Four Wheel Parts. Reasonable pricing. I have the Extended Bikini Top and Tonneau Cover. I think the Rampage or maybe Pavement End brands are the cheapest. BestTop makes the best but too pricy for me.

What year is your JK? I'm planning to pick up a besttop cable style bikini and tonno in the near future. From what I have read the cable style is best for not flapping or leaking.

Just got the Besttop bikini with tonno and wind jammer. Love it. Haven't used the windjammer at highway speeds though. Price was not bad.

I have a tj and I own the bestop brand safari and trail cover. Trail cover is on its second season and is still holding up well. Has saved me from several downpours and from having to put top on each nite. The safari I didn't think I would ever want or need cuz its a jeep so it should be naked but now that I have it idk how I ever did without it. Keeps cab cool and keeps you dry from unexpected rainshowers. The material seems tough and looks as if it will last.

I have the Quadratec Bikini, Duster and Windjammer. I just got this about 2 months ago. Prior to that, I had a Smitty Bikini for a couple of years. I like the duster a lot, but have yet to employ the windjammer (it is connected to the duster, but is folded under at the back seat, hidden underneath).

Strange to say this, but the Smitty bikini didn't flap around like this Quadratec one does. Almost as if it is better quality than the Quadratec... or maybe smaller. I purchased the QT version because I didn't like the way the windshield header mounted to the windshield with the Smitty version. It would cock back a bit and wouldn't sit flush. The rear tension straps ran from the roll bar to the tub rail. The hooks on the ends were weak and I had a couple of them snap.

There doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of the slack on the QT bikini other than constructing bows or something to go between the roll bars. The rear buckles are already cinched to their max I may see if I can get the QT header bar to work with the smitty fabric and rock that...

The Bestop Bikini Top comes with everything you need to install it and the cable will keep flapping to a minimum. Some other tops require a windshield header that you have to buy separately, or they will flap a lot which can be annoying.

Let me know if you'd like a quote on one of those tops!

Thanks for the help guys! I was also wondering whether getting door surrounds with the Bestop bikini top would be worth it. I want it to be a little bit water-proof and i hear that surrounds will do the job.

You'll definitely want some door surrounds. They're what hold the cable in place to keep the water out and keep the flapping down. Check out the Install Guide. Let me know if you have any questions!

What kind of surrounds are best? Should I buy Mopar or is there a decent 3rd party offering?

I don't hear of people having issues with their surrounds so I would say find the cheapest ones you can. Maybe you can find a set on craigslist or ebay for cheap. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Might be a dumb question but I was looking into something for the summer I have a hard top and instead of spending like 800 on a soft top if I got a summer top with four surrounds how good does it keep water out if I get stick in the rain

That depends on what kind of "summer top" you get. Some of the Safari and Bikini Tops that utilize the door surrounds will seal up pretty good from the top. There will still be some water that gets in here and there though.

If you're driving without a windjammer in the rain, spray will be pulled in from the back and you'll get a little wet that way. Let me know what questions you have or if you'd like a quote on a top!

Hello everyone. I'm joining this thread because I want to get the Bestop® Cable-Style Safari Bikini® for my brand new Wrangler Unlimited Polar Edition, and I was wondering if I need the door surround. I think Ryan can answer that... Thank you. BTW I live in Europe, Monaco exactly

I got the bestop summer top combo last summer and I loved if at first but Now i'm regretting not spending the extra money on a soft top.

I have a hard top so for the summer I switch to the summer combo and it works great but if it rains hard enough prepare for you jeep to get wet, I even bought the door surrounds thinking they would work well, they kind of helped but not as mush as I thought. with the summer combo tops you will get wet and your jeep will get wet. If you are ok with that then go for it, when it's not rainy the ease of filing the windjammer away is awesome.

I'd spend the extra money on a trektop instead of the bikini.

I have the SpiderWebShade, and I love it, but it won't protect you in a rain storm, maybe a light drizzle, but I can leave it on with the hardtop on or off, which makes it much easier.

I truly appreciate these posts...sad to say I just purchased the bestop bikini safari top and duster cover for my 2013 jeep unlimited. Love the cargo cover but no too excited about how the bikini top fits...not a smooth cover and it does not lay flat where you have to tie the strap between the first and second row of seats...On top of this is has a gap between the rear set of seats and the door so you will get wet in the rain....I am going to keep it for the money but thinking seriously about buying a spider top as I love the concept and the smooth fit and investing in a car cover in case I get caught in the rain away from home....Bad part about this is that you can't drive down the road with one of them on....Sure wish they was a better bikini top on the market for those of us that don't like the soft top!

Wish I saw this post before! I have a hardtop as well and just purchased the Bestop bikini top combo. It poured here in NY last night and lets just say I am really glad I wore my raincoat in the Jeep. Trektop would have been a better investment.
