Hey guys thanks for all the help I finally got my new JKU Rubicon so happy. :iamhappy: There is this squeaking noise coming when I drive the car and my buddy said he can hear it when he was driving next to me. Its coming from the front however I am not sure is this the sound the MT make or should I take it back to the dealer? Mechanically everything works flawlessly.

Try jacking the Rubi up on the right front and hand rotate the tire listening for the squeak. As you lower the wheel onto the ground and the suspension compresses, listen again (make your your jack doesn't squeak first).

If you don't hear it, then raise the hood and start the engine and see if you hear it.

All of this is to narrow down the squeak or eliminate items.

Mine squeaked at about the same speed for about the first 300 miles and it eventually "broke in". One day it just stopped. I chalked it up to shipping dust and moving parts being moved again after sitting for a while.

I don't know if this is related to your issue. When I hit bumps or dips my front end squeaks once in awhile. I've found that my diff breather line has a metal clip that rubs up and down. When I got that line secured my squeak went away.

Good luck

Are you hearing this in the engine bay area, the transmission area or more in the driveline area? Really need to start narrowing it down.

Although I wouldn't expect it in a new vehicle. Our XJ developed an angry crow noise, it kinda came and went with drive train load shifts (accelerate/decelerating). Turned out to be a drive shaft u-joint.

Diagnosed by hitting it with light spray lube. Squeal would go away temporarily until spray lube wore off. Fix was u-joint lube.

Its not coming from the engine bay, it seems to come from the passenger side area. Its an annoying squealing noise -_- can't really concentrate where it is though but it seems from the driveline area I am assuming because the noise only becomes apparent when I leave my foot off the gas. I am really confused.

When you go back to the dealer, have the service writer ride with you when it does it. If it does it, stop somewhere and have them drive the vehicle back. That will give them a first hand experience on the noise and will put you in the passenger seat for a bit to see if a different perspective can tell you where it's coming from.

Yesterday I was driving and when it started to squeak I shifted the rig into neutral and it stopped until I shifted back. Now I am confused as to where it may be coming from :/, I searched around the threads but didn't see anything like this occur on a JKUR.

That's the first thing I would check. It could be low... some Jeeps have been shipped with the transfer case fluid low.

I would show them how the noise stops when coasting in neutral.

Sometimes things happen like that. When I took mine in to get the oil pressure sensor swapped out, I asked them to try and find that rattle that's been driving me crazy.

What's funny... they said they couldn't hear the rattle, but went ahead and re-torqued the control arms. As soon as I drove it off the lot that damn rattle was completely gone and the suspension feels tighter like it was when new.

Go figure.. as some people would say, the universe provides.

:)
