Replacing front bumper on my 2014 JKU and wish to use better Fog or Driving Lights as this bumper does not reuse the OEM's. Can you use the existing OEM wiring and switch to work either driving lights or fog lights? If so, any recommendations for decent lights? Thanks.
I searched for the wattage of the stock fog lights without success. Did you find out what it is/what wattage LED's did you use? And did you wire in a relay?
If you put halogen lights of 55 watts each or less, you don't need to add relays or anything special. Direct wiring is fine. If you install halogen lights of a higher wattage, you will need a relay. If you install LEDs, the wattage will be way less than 55 watts each, but you will need an anti-flicker harness or a relay due to PWM.
You cannot direct wire LEDs or relays due to the PWM on the 2014+. For any relay connected to the factory high, low, or fog lights, you will need a 600uf capacitor in parallel on the relay coil. For LEDs on the fog circuit, you can also just direct wire them with an anti-flicker harness
