I have 35x12.5x17 on my 2010 jk with only a leveling kit right now. My front tires are rubbing on my sway bar when my wheels are turned almost all the way. I've been looking for weeks now for a wheel with the proper backspacing to fix the issue and I haven't succeeded....suggestions? I'd rather not use wheel spacers and I've heard 4.5 backspacing would give me the clearance I would need since I'm still using my stock wheels at the moment.
My 17x9 ProComps have 4.5" backspacing. I believe most of their wheels are available with this backspacing. When I went through the catalog at 4 Wheel Parts I had a ton of choices with 4.5" spacing
I found that tirerack and 4wheelparts both had a good search engines with lots of brands that can filter by backspacing. Then once you find a wheel that you like, you can search at your preferred vendor of choice.
Mine are 17X9 with 4.5" back space. 4 Wheel Parts online wheel filter shows 123 Pro Comp Wheels available in 17X9 with 4.5" back spacing. 146 options if you select 4.75"
I appreciate it. I've never really messed around with offset and most that I've seen that have 4.5 BS also have -12 offset and from the way sites have explained offset its kind of thrown me off as to what exactly that backspace ends up being.
17x9 with -12 offset is the same as 4.5" backspacing
Backspacing and offset measure the same basic thing, but from different reference points. Backspacing measures from the back of the rim to the mounting face of the wheel (where it meets the hub), where offset measures from the center line of the wheel's barrel to the mounting face of the wheel. Backspacing is measured in inches, offset is measured in millimeters.
My fuel Octane rims are -12mm offset aka 4.5" backspacing.
