I had one a few cars ago in a Mazda, and I could not say enough good things about it. For less than $500 you get a radio that looks as good if not better than a stock radio with, usually, additional features.
The main difference between the GA5177F and d5177zu is the OS. The GA uses Andriod which means I can hack it to my hearts content and will be updated for a long time to come. The D uses WinCE which while tried and true is gone and dead, most units have their flaws.
I should have the radio installed this weekend and will provide feedback once I can play around with it.
PLEASE come back and give us a review once you have it installed! I've been looking for an Android based head unit that doesn't suck or cost an arm/leg for a long time...

assuming unlimited data (which I have) you can get the app only XM for like $4.99 a month and accomplish the same goal.
I had XM in my last few cars but cancelled it when I got the Jeep, I knew my HU plans so I didn't see the need to keep it when Pandora is better and I have Amazon Prime if want specific music.
Installed one of these (similar) in my 99 Cobra, the unit is great. Some have questioned the GPS but i do no use it very often. Mine wasn't a specific vehicle install.
Watching this one too. I'm not much of an audiophile and have the base junker CD player in my 2013. Integrated GPS and some of the other features of these would be nice.
If things in the audio world are the same as the rest of the electronic world, most of the big name aftermarket stuff is made in China too.
I was reading the reviews of a few of these and many had issues; I particularly liked the ones that had gauges with programmable PIDS. I hope it works out for you.
Opened the Amazon box to see a grey mailer bag. Opened the grey mailer bag to see two rounds of bubble wrap. Got through the two rounds of bubble wrap to find a very heavy weight cardboard branded box. Opened the branded box to see all the typical packaging and supports you would expect to see in an electronic box.
I know it's a small unrelated piece to the quality puzzle but 5 stars for shipping and packaging none the less.
Hoping to get the radio and backup camera installed Sunday and will provide initial feedback. Will post again after using it for the week.
Interestingly enough the unit is a single din with double din face unlike the listing.
The unit is not fully plug n play as you would still need an antenna adapter.
womp womp, it didn't power up. Tried changing the fuse as they sent a spare and still nothing. Kind of hard for me to diagnose anything else as the main harness and canbus harness IS plug n play.
The unit is on its way back to Amazon and once my account is credited for the purchase I will be ordering the Joying that Etoimos suggested.
Did you try to remove the little white connector off of the factory antenna plug? I know on the JK1001, which looks just like that unit, the instructions say to remove the white connector from the factory radio antenna plug. after you remove that, it plugs right into the back of the unit.
Dropped off the Eonon at UPS this morning which finishes my portion of the return to Amazon thus they have already credited my account! Ordered the Joying radio and it will be delivered tomorrow. I love amazon prime!
Anyway. More updates to come with the next unit, stay tuned!
Joying emailed me this morning through Amazon to ask what vehicle I planned to install the unit in. When I told them ('09 wrangler) they let me know I may not have sound once the unit is installed and if that's the case to let them know and they would send me a different CanBus module to correct the issue.
Unit will be delivered and installed tonight. Pics to come.
So I was able to play with it some more last night.
* I have full audio and it REALLY brings the stock speakers to life.
* iphone (6+) works great via bluetooth, can make calls and steam audio (pandora sounds bad, amazon sounds better, local audio sounds best)
* Music from an SD card has the best sound quality, by far
* Auto reverse switching to the camera works but I don't yet have my camera powered to fully test - maybe this weekend.
* You WILL need a an antenna adapter, I am going to try and get best buy to price match amazon this afternoon otherwise I'll just order one. I very rarely listen to the radio, always streaming, but i would like it to work.
* I can't figure out how to use a navigation system other than google maps which requires wifi, but I didn't play with this too much.
I got the Metra adapter from Best Buy, http://www.amazon.com/Metra-40-CR10...1461845996&sr=1-1&keywords=jeep+metra+antenna
All Jeeps should have the same stock antenna regardless of stock radio type - tell them you need the European adapter and they will know, there are two styles for Jeeps, pre-2002 uses the American adapter and post-2002 uses European.
FM sound quality is as good as the USB sound quality (best possible) but the reception is terrible *may be due to my stub antenna but I had no lost quality with the stock radio.
From what I've found there is an app called "HERE" which is best for offline navigation, I will be installing that this weekend on the radio.
Joying also has a 10.1" radio which actually looks pretty fun, I'm just not sure if it would work with my center console since the top plate sticks out, I think newer Jeeps have a more rounded top and should be able to use it.
1. Where is the SD card slot?
2. Where is the USB slot?
3. Does the unit auto connect to your phone as soon as you get in the Jeep for audio play back? I mean, if you get in and press play on your phone, does it automatically play though the Jeep's audio system? And if you press play on the unit, does it automatically play audio off the phone?
Speaking of apps, could you try installing RollMeOver and Gaia GPS and let us know if those work? I think both have a free trail version.
1. Two microSD slots on the face of the unit in the bottom "button" position.
2. Two cables run out of the back of the unit, I put them in my glove box, they are long enough you should be able to make your center console if you preferred. There is a 3rd micro USB on the face with one of the mircoSD slots and the unit comes with an adapter to convert to standard USB.
3. It does remember your devices but it does not autoplay.
3a. Bluetooth is a bit annoying but such is life. If you left your rig with bluetooth music streaming when you get back in you would need to start the music again from your phone. You can not start from the headunit. (maybe this is normal?)
I will look into your apps this weekend, I have a few others I'm wanting to test out.
I figured out how to mirror my iPhone onto the screen but dont understand the need, this works via wifi which means your phone can no longer use 4G so you can't stream content. local content streaming sounds great.
regardless of what screen you leave on the head unit when you turn off the rig it always boots to the same home screen. not a huge deal and probably how any radio works but a thing none the less.
there is a full screen of random steering wheel controls so you can configure your buttons to do whatever you want, hypothetically, I dont have steering controls so I can't comment if this works.
