Coil spacer lift?

If I bought a BB for the JK, what else would I need besides the pucks? Brake line extensions? Shock extensions? Anything else?

If its anything like a TJ you won't need squat but the pucks and that's it! A small possibility of new shocks for the 2" rise, but I highly doubt it.

I put a 2.5 spacer lift on mine last week. Kit came with shock extensions front and rear. Front brake lines needed to be disconnected from the frame but only to get the springs out. Rear was the same but I did need the included relocation brackets for those.

Front left I did also need to remove a black wire from a bracket in two places to give it more length to get the axle low enough to remove the spring. I think this was for the speedo but im not positive. Anyone else know what this was for from my description?

I didn't have to remove any lines in the front to remove my coils. I disconnected the brake line bracket in the rear however.

Linda, what size BB is it? Beware there is a chance to may have to re-center the steering wheel. If you have ESP issues, that would be the cause.

I'm pretty sure you can find a write up at Project JK.

Rough Country has some pretty decent install instructions with pics of most of the job.

It's a 2" BB, not sure what all is included with it yet. Probably pucks only, so not sure he really wants to go that route.... I just have a really hard time passing up a deal....

I just added stiffer coils Wednesday that raised my jeep 1 1/4" plus added a TeraFlex 1" spacer making it a total of 2 1/4" lift from stock. I was worried that it might be too much but the installer RPM Offroad, said that there was plenty of room and everything went back easy. Said the shocks were fine and the brake lines didn't even stretch tight. So as far i I can see a budget 2" lift needs nothing because my 2 1/4" didn't. Did do an front end alignment.

Oh and I didn't think I wanted a lift but the extra 2 1/4" looks awesome. The only problem is that now it makes me want new tires lol

My wife walked right into the tires thing. She came out and said "Now the tires look small" which of course led to "I think I should get some bigger tires then"

I don't feel too ocd now that I had mine aligned. It drove fine after the lift but the wheel was a little light turning left and right.

Got any pics, Ncossey? I'd like to show him how it'll look. Although for some silly reason he's more worried about performance than looks.....

The first is with pucks and 33s. The second is with pucks, chopped fenders, and 35. The third is just for fun

I have been using the BB 2" for over a year and have really been happy with it. I have the 2" spacer only in the front. Left the back stock which made my Rubi level.

With the stock Rubi tires and wheels, never had any problem in Moab. With the after market wheels and 33 MT's, I have gotten into a few situations where the rear wheels rubbed just a little. No damage but could hear it!
You may have seen my link before but all the pictures are with the spacer.

Jeep

Have fun!
Jim

Linda,

Pick up the latest JP Magazine. (March '11) I just read a good article regarding JK lifts, specifically a 2007 Rubicon!
