Computer Went out

Has anyone heard about the computer or the ECM going out on a 2012 JKU. I did hydrolock the engine and had to replace that now the mechanic says that the computer went out and i need to buy a new one.

The computers in the JK are not waterproof, so it is definitely possible to fry it.

You really think you had water THAT high in the Engine compartment ???? I'm not saying you didn't, just that it may only need to be disconnected and dried out for a few days.
Mine quit working last winter just sitting outside in the rain in the driveway. I put it in the shop, took it apart and noticed lots of corrosion from moisture on the contacts between the boards. I let it set for a few day and cleaned the corrosion off and put it back together and it worked fine, been working ever since.
You might get lucky on yours too...Then again.....
If you need one, ya might try a wrecking yard....
Good Luck.... "BH"

Yep, the badge says that it is trail rated, not marine rated.
