damaged wheel flare...help

okay, I wonder if anyone else has had a problem with the wheel flares. my left rear one is coming off in the front(closest to the back door) I don't know but by the scratched paint underneath, looks like it's been like that awhile. I noticed it when I was washing her. i took it to a dealer, not the one I purchased it from, and they said they wouldn't cover it under warranty. Just want to know if I am alone in this. i guess there is a chance someone was getting in the back and stepped on it and broke it loose. there are several tabs along with some foam looking adhesive holding them on. I wonder if I can replace the tabs that mount to the body or if i will have to replace the whole fender, which means I would probably have to buy the set i know atleast one of you works at a dealership...any idea on the cost? looks like 3 tabs are broken.

I have not gotten underneath my fenders to see the tabs so I cannot help there, but I do know from reading others' posts that you can buy just the one if needed.

You don't have to look under, there are some tabs in the fenderwell, those aren't the ones that are damaged. It is right where the painted rear quarterpanel meets the wheel flare(on the side of the jeep) thanks anyways for responding

You can get replacements on amazon. Do not buy them from the dealer unless you want to take it up the *ss it's really a pain to replace because it's hard to access them. So you might end up breaking more. Good luck hope this helped

Search for them on ebay. I get a box of 15 regularly. And the paint rub is there on mine.

Just bought a bunch on ebay to re-attach a front flare that I bumped into a tree going down #4 at Redbird. Buy them from ebay or Amazon, clips and fasteners had the best price. The general consensus is you have to remove the fender completely, reinstall all the clips, then put them all back on. That proved true for me as well. Buy extra clips, just buy a bag of 25 or so. One of my "good" ones broke pulling the fender off.

Reiterating what most people already said. Those clips are crap. Go ahead and buy a big bag of them, it wont be the only time you need them! I busted 2 on my drivers side fender just going through a puddle at moderate speed.

Here are the clips online: http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Chr...n_p/a20887.htm

Found a video on how to take them off. Actually pretty simple.

I'm pretty sure they are meant to be a breakaway design. I've ripped two off while off road and each time I felt lucky to have saved the sheet metal and only had to replace the clips. One fender is unscathed and the other has a slight scrape.

I've actually passed on aftermarket flares because of the solid fastening. You can cut down your indestructible factory flares and retain the benefit of the design.
