Dash outside ambient temp gauge off

I have a 2010 JK and I washed it today and got in it to drive afterwards and the outside temp reading is showing 69 degrees when nits actually 84. Worked fine yesterday, today after washing it it's way off. Any ideas?

I'm guessing here, but I'll bet when the temperature sensor dries off it will read as before.

When things are wet (such as just after washing your vehicle) the wet items are cooler while the water is evaporating. (That is how a "swamp cooler" works).

Hope your sensor is OK.

The sensor on a 10 is up front in the area of the radiator. It cooled off when you washed it. It should be fine.
