Dent Repair

Hopefully I posted this on the correct forum....

I have several dents that I want repaired and I believe the 3 in the body are an easy fix and may be doable with a rubber mallet . Not so sure about the bumber. The small dents next to the front doors are the product of me putting my doors back on without attaching the door straps, thus the mirror hitting my body. Now that I have seen this on a few JKs I'm not as embarassed to ask about it.

I called my dealer and asked him about these and he referred me to his dent guy. I would love feedback before I talk to him. If this can be done in an hour or two in labor, I will likely just pay for it. .......

Out of curiosity how did you dent your tailgate? I have an almost identical dent on mine (was dented when I bought the jeep)

I don't think it's a huge expense to get the dents out but it's much cheaper to make taking the straps off the last thing you do before taking the doors off! I'm sure you have already figured that one out. Lol

Don't feel bad. I had the same dent on my passenger top fender panel.

I was backing up to a parking space with a pillar behind it in an unfamiliar parking garage. There was an enclosure of some kind protruding a couple feet from the pillar and I didn't see it. I thought I had 2 more feet and I think my bumper caught the bottom of th enclosure.

Did you get it fixed? The pics don't really portray how bad it looks seeing as I always wax/polish the Jeep. If I kept it dirty, it wouldn't be so bad but the constant shine draws attention to it.

It's fixed. Was a shallow dent. Took about 20 minutes.

FYI. I fix dents for a living. That one on your tailgates not an easy fix. Have to remove handle to get on it.

It's a series of small precise pushes with hand tools. We use a light board to cast a shadow across the dent to determine exactly where to push. It's an art. Took me a year of practice.

i have a rear bumper (in Tampa) that you can have for free... just come and get it. and i've had a couple dings repaired on my jeep by a local guy in Tampa Bay. he's done a fantastic job - twice i have had to remove a dent from my doors....

PM me about the rear bumper.
