Does this look wrong?

Does this picture look wrong to anyone else? I bought my 08 JKUR used with a BB and 35s. The front end seems to sit awefully low and there is barely any room below the front bumpstops. This is my first Jeep so I am not sure what a stock what it's supposed to look like. The picture is as it sits normally. I can use one hand and push down on the bumper enough for the bumpstop to make contact.

Wow that looks horrible. Bet it rides like crap. You'd be hitting the bump stops every time you hit a bump. Definitely something wrong there. Wrong spring or severely sagging.

Other than your Jeep laying on it's side…. j/k

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your spring is upside down. The smaller diameter coil should rest in the spring perch on the axle. I'm not familiar with BB lifts, but there was something added to the spring perch to be closer to the bumpstop, may be part of the lift to keep your tire out of the fender.

It looks like that might be a rear spring installed on the front.

Someone else chime in if my eyes are playing tricks on me

It can be a bit jarring over bumps, but it doesnt seem to bad otherwise. But then, I traded in a vehicle with a sportier suspension so a rough ride is fairly normal to me.

That's the right spring. It may be my eyes playing tricks with the first picture.

If it were mine I would buy a Teraflex 2.5 inch coil lift. It will only cost about $730.

The main culprit is the bump stop extension that is attached to the lower spring seat. That is way to much bump stop for that lift unless it has the stock shocks without extensions.
Also the spring looks off like others said. Check and see if you can find a tag on the front springs and it will have the part number.

The front spring is up side down...the gap between the bump stops is a problem, how much extra weight on the front (steel bumper and winch?) the springs must be sagging. I would remove it all and start over. I would also inspect all the suspension components for excess wear and improper installation.

Yeah it has a rugged ridge bumper and xrc winch. I was thinking of picking up a Rancho 3" Sport System (springs, adjustable track bar, ext. sway bar end link, bumpstop spacers, front extended brake lines, and rear brake line drop brackets) and some Rancho RS9000XL shocks since they are offering a $300 rebate right now. It would come out to about $750 shipped.

The Rancho system is great for the price. I have the 2 in sport with 35x12.50's and it works great.

I would definitely get rid of that crap that's under there now.

I just looked a picture of stock coils. I count the same number of "rings".

Depending on the shocks, this part needs to go.

If that goes, then wouldnt I have even more problems with the tires hitting the fenders while in the trail? As it is, those are probably the only reason my fenders survived my first trail ride.

you do not want to get rid of your bump stops. I will say that the sway bar links are too short for that lift. It looks like the springs have sagged. It used to be a 3" or so lift based on the spacer on top and the bump stop on the bottom. measure them and that will tell you. measure from the center of the rear shock bolt to the top of the rubber bushing on top where it meets up with the upper perch. that will tell you how much lift you have. if the difference between what you get and 18.5" is less then what the bump stop on the bottom measures that is how much your springs have sagged if that makes sense.

Yup, you're right small coil goes on the bottom. Something sure looks wrong though.

That was my initial thought as well.

Looks like it used to have a lift in it but then they just removed the springs and swapped the factory ones back

I think this is best theory.

most coil spring lifts do not come with spacers like what are on this. I think it is a spacer lift and the coils have just sagged. OP how many miles and did you measure yet?

Unhappy

I measured the shock at just about 19", with 2" bumpstop extensions and 3" coil spacers. So basically the coils have sagged about 2.5" and I effectively only have a .5" lift...
