Drag link lifespan

So i took my jeep to the dealer early this morning and told them about a clunking sound that came back(sounds like the drag link bolts need to be torqued, that was what happened a month ago, dealer tightened bolt(s) and sound went away)...
after being there all day they called me back and told me that the drag link will most likely need replacing and that they were sending the jeep over to the local 4wheel parts (where the dealer had upgraded the jeep previously) to be worked on.... so is it unusual for a jeep with only 3700 miles on it to have this replaced so soon? I am still learning about all the parts underneath but does this sound like someone didnt torque the bolts correctly and that is what caused the part failure? i understand that the lift and tires/wheels will cause more stress on these parts but i didnt expect to have this part replaced at such a low mileage....
again i am still learning about what part is what and i do plan to get myself a torque wrench at some point so that i can check things myself.

Had a similar issued. Played on washboard roads for a weekend and heard an occasional small thump from the front end but only while turning left. Checked all the bolts and the tie rod was no longer torqued to specs on the right front. Torqued it back down and thud is gone.

UPDATE to my post above. Despite being able to torque the tie rod down a little more the thud came back occasionally. Turned out it was a bad drag link joint at the knuckle. New HD drag link on order :)

update to this post, after the tightening the sound came back! took it straight to 4wheel parts and it turned out to be a bad heim joint... frustrating that it took a bit of back and forth between the dealer and 4 wheel parts but the problem is fixed! so relieved!
