Duratracs/pinch seam/2.5 lift??

Sure its been asked before but can one get away without cutting off the pinch seam for a while? I am getting the tires next week and its cold and snowy here. I really don't want to trim off the pinch seam now because of the rotten weather and I am not sure I can get the paint to set right. I don't want it to rust. If I don't do anything heavy do you think I can wait?

33s, no cut needed. 35s are close. Some cut some don't. I cut mine just to be safe.

My 2013 JK 2dr had the pinch seam already trimmed at the factory. Ordered in April and delivered in May. I was surprised mine was already trimmed.

From about Jan. 2013 onward, the pinch seams are trimmed at the factory. If you have, or want to add Rubi rails, they will still need to be trimmed back.

My 35" MTRs were very close, so I ended up trimming the pinch seams and Rubi Rails about 1.5" before I took it off-road.

I haven't trimmed mine since I put the 2.5" lift and 35" tires on last March. It's close, but I don't believe I'll ever hit.....though it's something I think about and would like to take care of one day.

I do, but I don't push things to the limit and I don't get into the rocks. All my off-roading is only when I go hunting....so it's (when it rains) muddy, rutted roads....the ruts in some areas are pretty bad, but again, it's not putting my suspension to the limits.

I have a 2.5" lift, 35's, and I have fully flexed my setup on multiple occasions. I have never hit pinch seam. I was out with a guy that had an AEV conversion Jeep with 37's on their 4.5" lift with no pinch seam cut. He flexed it up, and it was very close, but didn't hit. The rear axle rotates rearward with flex and it doesn't hit pinch seam.

You won't really know until you get them mounted up. The tire does rotate back under compression, but, if the tire is big enough, the pinch seam will still slice the tire.
