Esp/bas - abs

I drive in 4H for about 16 miles when these lights came on. I put her back in 2H and drove a few miles over 55 and they went off but came back with the next start and have not gone off since. Any ideas?

What were the off road conditions? Check your wheel sensors. One could be damaged or called with mud.

I agree with Daggo66, hose down inside wheels where brakes are at. Then go for long drive. Other possibility is the brake fluid needs servicing. Looking at the mileage, I would add, Tire are getting worn. Are you off roading with All-Terrains Tires. Check your tire pressures too. Check to see if your Jeep will roll on its own in neutral. What are the Warning Tones: alerts include single chime tones and continuous slow or fast tones. If I got those lights on my Jeep, I am sliding and loosing traction. ABS light came on because a tire was spinning. I think its time for Mud Terrain Tires. Other question is do you drive thru Mud or Salty Sandy Beaches.

My tires are fairly new, only 10k on them, Not doing any off road yet, I was driving home during a snow storm and thought 4H was a good Idea When I start her up I get one tone and then it goes silent and the lights stay on. My daily drive is pavement nothing any fun yet. Maybe I'll take her to the car wash and see what happens.

Take a look at the area around the brake rotors. There could be ice/snow build up or a sensor could have been damaged.

Unless the owner of the car wash is also a mechanic, I don't see how that will help.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Just take it to the Dealership. Most likely a Control Module that wont reset the lights when it does Self TEST. Couldn't help but notice the Temperature. I'll bet your tires are really underinflated or FLAT too.

Tires pressure is good, no TPMS. I wanted to avoid the dealer but it may be the best bet because I don't know what the issue is.

I post when i know the issue and resolution

I agree with most. Either a tire sensor wire came loose or senser broke.

When I had a wheel sensor go bad I couldn't even drive it. The ABS kept applying the brakes thinking I was in a skid.
I've had the lights come on but no Braking when I had mud caked on the the rotor area and around the shield. Good rinsing did the trick.

Something else I was just thinking of. I was reading about control modules on the Jeeps. Disconnect Battery Power for about 5 minutes. See if the problem comes back. I just went out to my Jeep. Put key in Ignition, turn to ON only. Don't start. Lights all came on and then off. Except Seat Belt and Power on. I have another question, did you mess with the Jeep such as put in a Stereo and Amplifier recently and does the Compass point North when pointed North. Also check Jeep external Lighting and turn signals/tail lights/Alarm etc.. to make sure they are working right. Try really hard to find this problem now. It is most likely cold weather related and will come back next year.

I finally brought it in to the dealer and they said there were 2 broken wires in the wire harness in the left rear which was the problem. The had to pull the entire harness to fix the wires that costs me $360 to fix.

$360?? I think I would of explored some other options..even if it meant buying the part myself and replacing it.

yea...I got soaked...that was money I was saving for wheels and tires...they charged $85 for diagnostics and kept the charge eventhough I had them do the work..other places I've gone to waived that charge if I let them do the repair
