Ok so today I stopped to get gas and left the key in the accessories position because I was charging my phone, Radio playing etc...
Finished pumping gas, get in to start it. The starter goes click then everything dies.
No radio, no more click, no dash lights, even the odometer doesn't even light up.
So I pop the hood thinking I blew the IOD fuse. Pulled it and checked it. Was good.
Scratching my head I pull out my winch control because it is wired direct to the battery in front of the fusible link. Not even a bump or hum. Completely dead. So I pull the battery connections and clean them anyway even though they looked good. Still nothing.
So I break down and call the wife. She shows up in the Volvo to jump it off (hate hooking it up to the jeep but oh well).
Cables connected, I get gauges and radio and interior lights. Try to start, click click click.
Gauges flashing no fuse...
So we go to the local auto parts store and I buy a big shiny Optima battery to replace the stock one. Install it and boom - fire in the hole. Starts right up.
So I get home and take the old battery out and put a volt meter on it. 12.5 volts!!!!!
I drop it in my old YJ and boom it turns over and fires right up...
So what do you think the issue is?
I am thunderstruck. Put the error code reader on it. All clear?!?!
