Exterior Lighting Issue

Well, here goes. When the headlights are on the left blinker doesn't blink. When the headlights are off, the left blinker blinks but the indicator alternates with the clock light in the radio and the light in the odometer. Also, with the headlights off, the light in the radio and the light in the odometer will go off then the brake is pushed. This may not be all that's happening but it's all I have for now. Would appreciate ANY help!

First, do you have any electrical mods or accessories installed. Second, was there anything that occurred immediately prior to this starting ... crash, off roading, driving in heavy rain or standing water?

My first thought is a bad ground somewhere, but electrical is pretty hard to troubleshoot.

There is a winch installed, that could be the problem. I have checked all of the ground connections that I could trace and they all seem to be secure. Also I looked at the wiring diagram and all of the items that are giving me grief are on the same (L7) circuit. I'll try unhooking the grounds and cleaning them. Thanks a bunch.

Electrical Gremlins

Hey All, If you read my earlier post you know that I was having some weird electrical problems with my 97 TJ. All of the issues were with the same circuit so I thought that it must be a ground wire issue. What had actually happened was, after hours of tracing ground wires, I FINALLY found that the two filaments (tail light and turn signal) in the left tail light bulb had fused together causing the system to ground out when the turn signal was activated.

So, if you start having weirdness in your lights, checking and/or replacing the bulbs might be a good place to start.
