My front flares keep coming unclipped at the rear of the flare. Seems like everytime I go out and fling some mud it happens. When I disconnect my tires do rub but while connected they do not. My fenders come unclipped even while I am connected and not rubbing.
I can say from experience putting on my bushwhacker flares that your clips are probably broken. Chances are a piece of the clip broke off that secures it to the body. There are two prongs that hold it on, if one broke off it will still give the illusion that it's secure, but vibrations or bumps will allow it to fall out. Reason i feel this way is that i had a very hard time getting those suckers out, i used the prying end of an adjustable hammer to pull them out, and it required an absurd amount of force. If the clips stay on the body then they are fine you need to make sure that they are fully clipping to the flare, they slide on, they don't push on…if that makes sense…. you may only be partially seating them to the flare if your pushing them on.
Based on your description it sounds like the clips are staying on the body and you need to correctly seat them to the flare… I'm not sure if you can pull the fender up and slid it down on to the clips… but I'm pretty sure you can't just push them back on from what i could tell when i had mine off…. The flare plastic is pretty soft and just gets pushed back when you try and re-attach the flare.
If you upgrade to Poison Spyder flares they won't ever come loose again.
