Front windows wont roll down 2015 jku

My jeep is less than 2 weeks old and my front driver and passenger window refuse to roll down. When I press the button nothing happens. Rear windows work fine. Any idea what the problem could be? Btw this is the first thing to break on my baby, please help.

its a 2015. let the dealer figure it out. If you really wanna go into it yourself pull the switch panel and see what the harness looks like. See if you can get your hands on the wiring diagram for the switch, probably extremely similar if not the same for all JKs 2011+. Test to see if you get voltage down the right wires at the right time, if you are getting voltage down them when you move the window switch than the problem lies somewhere further down the line. My guess would be either the plug in your kick panel may be slightly undone or the window motor.

My money would be on the plug in the kick panel.

Thanks guys, that's pretty much what I was thinking as well. Dealorship can figure it out, but I'll post what the problem ends up being just for those DIYers.

John, this is funny but not really, had this issue on my new ( at the time )2012 JKU about a year and a half ago. Went out to go to work around 4:30am, did my normal, started the Jeep and same thing when I left. Back windows worked, fronts didn't....Drove to work, pissed, goggled on this subject, found a bunch of "hit" on this...Thet all said to turn off the engine, wait a couple minutes and re-start..So, I left my office, went out to my Jeep, and everything worked fine... Never had a problem since..Called the dealer, they told me they had a few customers that had this issue, called Chrysler and were told to do the same thing.Turn off, and re-start. Thet actuall told me that all the switches run thru the main computer, and sometimes they just get confused...Kind of like re-booting...Never had an issue since...There are other members that have experienced this also...Shut down, pull the key out , wait a few minutes and re-start...

I am having the same problem with my 2008 and I thought the same thing as far as shutting it off and turning it back on. Well the haven't worked I. 6 months so far. My wife took it to the dealership the guy didn't even look at it and said it need new motors it both door. That to me seems like a doctor saying you have a tumor because you have a head ache. Does anyone have any other ideas on what it could be?

Welcome to wrangler forum.

You can try disconnecting the battery, remove both cables. Hold them above the battery and touch the positive lead to the negative lead for a few seconds.
Connect it all back up and see if that does the trick.

If not, the next step would be opening up the switch panel on the dash and make sure everything is secure.

From that point, you would need to remove the window motor and check for voltage trough the switch to it.

JohnM, glad it worked! It was the weirdest thing for me also, I do the same thing every morning, open the Jeep from the passenger's side, put in my laptop and start it up...Put the dog back in the house and get in the Jeep, put my back window down a hair, front down all the way...That day nothing on the fronts!....Like I said, went to work, shut it off, came out a while later and life was Good! Glad I could help Dude!

Disconnecting the battery didn't work. I checked the voltage to the motor it has 13 volts when trying to role the window up and zero when placing the switch in the down position. I am not sure about what to do next any ideas?

This might not be the case with many issues regarding the windows not working but with some if there's one window that won't go down, if the vehicle has spent a lot of time with the sun baking the window it actually expands the inner seals and the window won't go down. It acts as if the switch is defective. Sometimes closing the door hard breaks it loose. Just another issue to deal with if a window doesn't work.

I would just check to make sure the connectors are completely secure and then I would take it to the dealer and say make it work!

A 2015?
To me it's a no brainer. Dealer Problem.
Not to hijack his thread....
I have a 2013 Toyota Highlander also. Went out 1 morning 'bout 2 months ago and the passenger window and both rear windows would not go down. I'm retired and live by myself and have a lot of time so I took it straight to the dealer. Showed it to the service writer. He took a look. Looked at me very strangely. Pushed a button and they all worked perfect. Heck I never knew there was a child safety feature button that kept the kids from opening the windows. YEP! felt like a fool. Especially after having owned it for almost 2 years.

Listen. This may be the first but won't be the last problem on your new jeep. Got 25,000 miles on my 13 and still have minor (which I hope your problem is) issues. What I'm getting at is 1). Don't stress and 2). Get used to it lol

Respectfully ....

That's what I said to try. Turn it off, wait a while and re-start....Re-boots computer I was told...Dealer said even the switches are "told" what to do by the main system computer..Only happened once to me, followed these instructions, and never had another issue. They are controlled by the computer first when you hit the switch, then sends power back to the actual motor to make the window go up and down. Key off, sit a minute, turn on.

I have done all of this shut it off turned it back on disconnected the battery. Nothing has worked. I am the only owner this jeep has ever had. I got it brand new and this is the only issue I've ever had with 109,000 miles . Should I just swop out the switch and see if that works. Been having this problem for over a month. Warranty won't cover.

Sarge,

Have you tried prying out the switch and checking the connector on the back side? I know I personally removed mine when doing some mods and perhaps it was damaged or wiggled itself loose.

My wife's 2013 had the same issue. We went out to do an errand and the fronts wouldn't work. I brought my wife home so I could head to the dealership with it. I shut it down and went inside for a minute or two to do something before I went. When I started the Jeep again, the windows were fine. Haven't had it happen since and I think that was about a year and a half or more ago.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^ About 6 months ago same exact problem and solution on my wife's 2013 JKU Sahara. Except for me I pulled in to a parking lot and shut her Jeep down and restarted. Hasn't happened again. I drive a 2014 JK Polar and haven't had the problem yet!
