Fuel and oil....

What kind of fuel and oil works best for a JK Jeep Wrangler? Do they require expensive stuff or can they take crap? Or if both, do they work any better with premium gas/synthetic oil?

Regular 87 octane and 5w20 API REAL oil. Anything else is a waste.

That's not bad at all thanks

My dad's car uses 5w20 so that makes logistics easier.

Hell, I run 104 And 0w40 and I can outrun everything on the road............

Really though I run 87 and factory weight oil. I am so glad to have a rig that does just fine on cheap gas and oil. Relatively speaking of course.

Unless you've changed the compression ratio through timing or after market parts, 87 octane is what the engine is engineered for. That being said, "name brand" fuels get you higher quality detergents and additives with lubricating properties. If at all possible, stay away from ethanol and low volume fuel stations.

Both the gasoline and oil have API standards, but the additives you get with higher end oils make the diference in the log run. If you change the oil and filter on a regular basis, you shouldn't have an issue. After break in, synthetic will certainly get you longer intervals between changes and has data indicating slightly better MPG and temperature removal.
