Fuel Economy with 35" Tires

2014 Unlimited Rubicon
4.10 gears
3.5 inch Metalcloak Lift
35' 17 MTR K2's, inflated to 29psi
6 speed manual
2400 miles

Wondering if by experimentation anyone has found a sweet spot on highway as to speed and gear for cruising for best mpg's.

Once I ditched stock stuff, I can't seem to get better than 13-14 on highway, Obviously doing 70 is worse than 60, but I know, like all cars, there is a sweet spot somewhere

Thanks guys love the forum!!!

Assuming you recalibrated your speedo ?

4:10/3.6 and 35's is actually a decent setup. Remember lugging the engine trying to save mileage can actually hurt milage.

In-dash GPS? That is tied to the speedo I believe, so it's not giving an accurate reading. If you put 35s on I think it's a must to recalibrate using a ProCal or similar device. It will also adjust shift points on the transmission, which should help too. I'm wondering how many of the people getting <14 MPG hwy have actually recalibrated.

X2 on this, factory an speedo is tied to speed sensors reading, not the GPS for whatever reason.

OP, this is excellent fuel economy for that much lift and tire size. You will be lucky to match these numbers if you read all any of the MPG threads.

I wouldn't go below 4.10s with 35s but if 3.73s would provide this mileage, I would be very tempted.

Also look at the gear charts and consider that the amount of lift and the tire tread and weight will impact your mileage.

reset everything with AEV Procal, and believe it or not fuel economy went up, not just readings, but actually getting more miles out of a tank, love that device!!!

How many kms/tank should I be getting? I'm getting around 460-480kms/tank if I'm lucky. These seems too low compared to others....?

Winter months have been killer on mpg, hopefully it gets better

I get around 18.5 highway in my JKUR, and mine isn't light with 35s with 4.10s. City is around 12, or so.

2013 JKUR
4.10
35x12.5x17 Nitto Trail Grapplers
3.5 RK X-Factor

15.4 in city. On the Highway at 65 I'm getting 16.5. Think the extra weight makes a difference.

Also, running at 35 lbs. I see one poster running at 31 lbs. Can this make a difference?
