Anyone ever remove the stock skid?
I have a caved in spot that I would like to pound back out before I put on the aftermarket skid system. I pulled all the bolts but one today and the tank was coming with it. I had about a half tank but it did not seem like there was all that much weight being suspended. I started looking around in the rear of the tank and the hoses and such would have to be moved to drop it any further than I did. I would really like to get it off there so I can hammer it out but I don't really want to go through disconnecting everything connected to the tank if I don't have to.
If you all have any ideas that you can share I am all ears. I wonder if the tank is secured to the skid in any fashion. I did some searching and in the older models they say that the tank is strapped to the skid in some way. If that is true then I really have to drop the whole tank and everything to remove the skid.
I am not really worried about fitment with the new skid. I just don't want the stock skid rubbing a hole in the tank.
