Half door help

I am need of some assistance. My parts guy is running into a brick wall at corporate trying to figure out exactly what I need. If someone with half doors would supply me with the last 8 digits of their vin, we should be able to figure the wire harness issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention, I can only use a vin from a 2014 because Jeep changed the wire harness.

The dealer doesn't have a 14 on the lot to pirate the number?

i wish - i have only seen one other jku half door in this area - ever
I might be able to locate a vin doing a new vehicle search.
I also just emailed jeepsareus. They sell half doors, but I am looking for a one stop shop with paint and everything.

use the one that fits your jeep.
that way you can use power lock latch & power mirrors if you want.
if you want manual only ask for harness for maunual doors
you need 12-14 wiring to plug into your doors.

or you can cheat & use these

Hey motoscoot - thanks for the reply. Jeep for some reason decided to change wire harnesses for 14. Screwed on doors and oil filters

I can tell you that wire harness does not work at least for 2013. I bought thinking it would. I have a 2013 and run full and half doors. I added the half doors myself. I wanted to run power mirrors in the half doors, but have not been able to find the correct harness. Talking with the dealer has been useless.
The hareness coming off the full doors (power windows, locks, mirrors) looks like this.

Sorry I misunderstood
Just curious, how about the internals. Could you use the full door harness and just not connect the window plug inside the door?

@Brwolfjr - I should have asked what your trying to achieve? Do you need any wire harness for Half Doors... the answer is no. I do not connect my half doors at all.

Since I have a 2dr. Manual locks are no big deal. I really never lock the Jeep when I have the half doors on. What's the point, vinyl windows are not really secure.

I do like the idea of the power mirrors. The crappy Quadratec Mirrors I have on my Half Doors always move when you close the doors and you have to readjust the side mirrors. Never a big deal when the top is off, but when the soft uppers are in it's pain to unzip and readjust the mirrors.

Whatever you figure out, please post.

I think i have the wiring issue resolved. It sounds like Jeep has finally addressed this known issue. I don't have all of the part numbers yet, but once I do, I will post.
I can actually say that my dealer has been great so far. Now we have to figure out the paint and assembly price and we are set.

did not realize jeep changed the connector on the 14
when i built mine i used the same power harness that is in my 12 full doors.
used the same power latches also.
you have to modify the door skin for the power mirror wiring to pass thru.
the lock button connector just lays in door unconnected, locks with fob & rolling door lock.
because there is no place to mount the power lock buttons on the half door door panel.

I just saw your posts and see you're in Wayne. I am in Havertown. I bought a 14 JKU with half doors and was looking for full doors to buy and quickly saw your same issue with the harness. I didn't go too far since I haven't found doors to buy. But I took a pic of my harness and it seems to be the same as yours. Yours is full door right? I attached it. If you want to meet to test or fit anything let me know. I tried to PM you but on my phone I couldn't attach the pic.

Yes, that is the wire harness I would need for my half doors. It's the same I have on my Full Doors. The Million Dollar question is, what is the Mopar part # for that wire harness.

I have been trying to get parts for the passenger side half door that I have. I finally was given some great info. Hope this helps someone! I attached 3 pdf's of diagrams.

I also ordered a wiring kit. The plug on my half door that is complete does not fit the plug on my 2013 JK. I'm hoping the kit I ordered will fix that issue. I also don't know what I would need electrical in the door since I think they are manual locks and I'm not putting in heated mirrors.

11 2013 Jeep Wrangler Half Door Heated Mirror Wiring Harness Mopar 82212943 | eBay

That is what I ordered for my doors. I think it will have the correct plug for my 13 JK.

Good luck. I've been messing with my half doors since before I had the Jeep!! I saw them on sale and couldn't pass it up!!

That wire harness is the harness that comes with the Half Doors if you order them on your own, like I did.
Here's what came with my half doors.

you notice it also included replacement wire harness' in the plastic bags.

The problem is neither the original harness nor the replacement harness fits the female side (what you plug your doors into) of 2013 or later Jeeps that have been fitted for power windows, mirrors for Full Doors.

What is needed is
Option 1. The Full Wire harness from a Full Door with power mirrors and windows. (I have not been able to find the part # for this)

Option 2.
something like this....
Half Doors & Components - 82212943 | Mopar

But it would need the large end changed from this...

To this....

Hope this help clear thins up.

All of this seems like a lot effort just to be able to use power mirrors on Half Doors. I agree and I've pretty much got used to adjusting my mirrors manually.

Oh right. You're not the OP. I was confused. You have the same problem I ran into looking into buying full doors. Sorry I didn't come to any conclusion and can't help.

OK see that part # on the wiring harness that came with your half door kit?
if you remove your door panel you will find the part# on you full power door wiring harness.
Or give your vin# to a mopar parts guy and he should be able to look up your power door harness part numbers.
use these if you want power mirrors & locks on your half doors.
you will need to use power latches & mirrors.

Or if you want just manual door locks & mirrors
Pm the other guy[bilash31] in this thread for his vin# then have a parts guy look up the harness part numbers for his factory half doors.
These have to be manual doors cause that the only way you can get them from the factory.

Thanks. I'll try another dealer and parts guy. The one I'd been to before was completely useless.

I have a 2013 Wrangler Sahara that came with the full steel doors. I bought the half doors and the wiring harness (82212943). I have the same connection issue mentioned in this post and the dealer hasn't been able an answer from Jeep if there is a solution to this issue. Has anyone gotten an answer on how to resolve this problem?

Please excuse me for not having any good answers as I only have questions to add. How much did all of you spend on two half-doors? Did any of you spray paint them or did you all powdercoat them.

Yo Boss I have the same problem. I was able to purchase 4 half door$ from a 2012 and the wiring harness does not adapt to my 2014. I just started researching this issue and I am dying to hear how you resolved it. I just want my door ajar indicators to work and for my internal lights to come on when the doors are open. Please advise!!!

The full wire harness for a 2013 full door is part # 68205034AA. This is a bit of waste since it's meant for power windows, heated/power mirrors and the connection for the latch to know when turn on the dome light. I bought a set of these for my half doors, but they sitting in the garage. I was going to put in power mirrors on the half doors and install power locks. I never did it because I never lock the half doors. Just not worth the bucks for me to buy the power latch activators and power mirrors. I do not know the rear door part for a 4 door.
Hope this helps.
