Turn off the HST. Google will give you the steps.

I found that removing the throttle lag helped me, purchased a superchips flashpaq.

I think its in the tranny, at least my 2014 started feeling better after break in, still a bit crappy for the money we spent.

Change the fluid in the trans, Amsoil MTF works great.

I tried doing a forum search and a google search and nothing came up. What exactly does HST mean? And why does disabling it help with the clutch engagement?

Noob Here

I wonder if he meant HSA (hill start assist)? I'm not familiar with the term HST, unless we are talking about taxes.

Pretty sure he meant HSA.. I've come to like it. I'd also recommend the flashpaq, maybe try posting a message in the nearest regional forum "looking for someone with a manual trans flashpaq tuned JK in Toronto", perhaps there's someone near you that has one and will let you take it for a spin (can't use it to tune more than one at a time).

I found the throttle control was terrible, slight press would make the engine race so it was very difficult to control the engine RPM's while engaging the clutch. The flashpaq made a HUGE difference in my opinion, the throttle seems more linear now.. I can easily rev the engine to any RPM's and hold it there.

OR.. I'm sure you'll get used to it.. when I got my flashpaq I had to un-get-used-to-the-crappy-throttle and it's been great since then.

Upon this threads suggestion, I shut the HSA off, and it made a world of difference.

Welcome to Jeep. My 08 tranny is the same way, sometimes smooth & sometimes really rough.
