+1 on the mud. 80% of the time that's what it is. If it is a lost weight, I reccomend either liquid balance or DynaBeads (I have the beads in my Jeep and both motorcycles) GOOGLE Dynabeads......
You need to THOUROUGHLY pressure wash your rig when you are done wheeling, including laying under it and getting all those hard to hit areas. I tell all my wheeling friends to "GO GET YOUR OWN PRESSURE WASHER!". 5-10 bucks a pop at the coin op will pay for a washer in a hurry. I have a 2500 PSI, with 2 tips and soap feed. Worth it's weight in GOLD.
Another good thing to do is a "damage check" before running it home on the highway. Get used to what it is supposed to look like in top condition, then any little quirks will stick out. YOU ARE GONNA SCRAPE AND DING IT, get over that, and look for any hard damage, and fix or live with it based on if it is cosmetic or if it is performance effecting...
In my avatar pic, we just came down a SERIOUS hill that had big shale rocks on it, and one of them put a NASTY crease on my gas tank skid. Next day a removal, torch heating and proper hammering, cooling, and rattle canning and she looked almost like new.
